How is everyone dishing out abuse on the gaffer this early on in his job ? . I think we have lost our values terrible supporters .I reserve judgement on him till half way through the season.

He will be managing Charlton by then.

Halfway! How generous.

But let's face it, he's 62 or whatever. Everyone knows already what kind of manager he is, well, everyone with a clue.

He was hardly going to turn into Shankly at this stage in his career; we got exactly what we *knew* we were getting

He needs to start showing some leadership, and lose the deer in headlights approach..

is there any chance based on his past club selections, we'll become an attacking revelation next week?

I just don't understand it; I initially was very ambivalent about him, but he did do reasonably well with Fulham.

Wasnt he manager of the year or some crap like that?

Then he bean talking in the press and I was thrilled.

He'd seen weaknesses which every one and his dog had seen and 'seemed' to be taking steps to fix it.

Then the game starts and its the same shit.

I just dont understand.

Because he is making the same mistakes as rafa. He didn't even attempt to win the game today that is the worst thing about it

I've liked some of the things he's said since his joined the club but sadly he isn't putting his words into action.

We don't seem to play football the Liverpool way like he hinted at doing. Maybe it's too early. Hopefully Meireles and Cole will help us out here.

He also seems to keep suggesting there are too many mediocre players on the payroll yet he's gone and added three more to it in Jones, Konchesky and Poulsen. He also seemed to be in for Carlton Cole which would have been another.

anyone who plays poo and mucas together loses my respect instantly.

That really should be all that needs to be said today.

It's a marathon not a sprint. I'm confident that we'll see a great improvement once Cole is back and the Portuguese fella beds in. And to be fair, at least Roy didn't drag our only strike threat off with 25 minutes to go.
Well said Shiek. Sure people are pissed off cos we played shit but did anyone expect a win today considering the recent record against this team?

Next week we could/should field

Reina
Johnson Carra Agger Kon
Maxi Gerrard Meireles Jov
Cole Torres

and if that team gets a run of games we'll win most weeks.

hope your right sheik .Roy has improved our defending against corners and set pieces credit where credit is due.i think raul--gerrard central midfield is the way forward with cole behind torres .

We gave away quite a few free headers today though...

Roy says""My expectations were not that high anyway. It would have been disappointing to lose but I'm not that disappointed to draw.''

They were lining up to head the ball, and we didn't really win that contest

Weel said, Shieky..

But some of the decisions were baffling, and all too familiar.

I thought Meireles wasnt played as he was fatigued or something, why else was Lucas still on?

I know it is early on but we are joint-worst goal scorers in the Premiership so far, in company such as Stoke, West Brom, West Ham and Wigan but have, what is considered to be, one of the best strikers and prolific midfielders in the world. Let's hope there are starts for Cole and Meireles next time...

Probably because most rational people see how incredibly fuckin short sighted it was to replace a proven manager with a journeyman of no notable substance?

Hodgson is a decent, honourable man, but can anyone seriously argue a case for his appointment on footballing grounds?

Hopefully rootkit won't turn out to be one of prodigal mentalists - hmmm - but I said that ages ago: there's no footballing reason for Granddad to be Liverpool manager

I'm quite happy to give Hodgson till the end of the season, but with all the shit we've put up with in recent times it'd be nice to be treated to a decent performance for once.

I can.

We were heading towards certain calamity, nothing was working.

We still might, mind you..but nothing is certain.

Very disappointing from Hodgson, admittedly.

He has to have a chance. But expectations are i guess challenge for Europe. Even Droopy can do that.

Not really, but by the end of last season Rafa had to go.
Painful to see at the end, wasn't it? The ego's of senior players, manager and directors were shite in equal measures. Never seem the likes of that in 20 odd years.

Should have worked to resolve the problems first rather than bringing more instability.
Welcome to the site. Can you make an argument, on footballing grounds, for the club to have retained Rafa?

I'm convinced if Rafa were still here Stevie wouldnt be, & possibly Torres too. I have no proof of this, but it is my strongly held opinion based on the players attitudes last season.

Not sure about Torres but defo SG and JC. This is what I was getting at by saying nobody at the club (players/manager etc) can be proud of their actions last season.

Carragher?

I doubt he'd have ever left us.

The club means a a lot more to him than any feelings he may have had for the manager.
