Lot of talk in another thread about their kids and how they're happy if they don't like football, or the fact that kids are wearing other teams shirts, etc

@Woland made the point of how can you bring yourself to support the big band of nonces (my words) that are professional footballers
Is the game going down the swanny for fans? There is very little rush any more. I don't get excited before the Derby, or semi finals, or anything. The passion is going because the soul is going.
Me and my Mrs both support different sides and I've decided, for fairness, he should support a local side to us who are low down the league, or non league. Prescot cables, tranmere, etc are all not too far away and cheap.
Anyone else thought if doing this kind of thing?
Anyone any ideas how passion can be injected in to the game once more?
