Sign -
Darren Bent - 15m
Juan Mata - 15m
Hazard - 15m
Banega - 8m
Mertesacker - 10m
Antonio Lopez - 7m

Manager out - Roy Hodgson

Manager in - I think i've made it clear what i expect from our next manager.

--------------------Meireles---------------------Gerrard----------------------------------

Bench - Aquilani, Bent, Skrtel, Maxi, Dirk, Jones, The Greek.

Im asking John watsisface to invest about 30m in the team and change the manager to a sexy fucking 3 point winning bastard. Im asking to sign some QUALITY players who can actually take us forward.
Im asking for miracles.

I expect fuck all, but i wanna hope for so much more between now and the usual crushing dissappointment of the next transfer window.

maybe i missed something, but your squad indicates you want to keep johnson but not play him or even have him on the bench

pffft, expecting Sumo to read is a bad idea.

How on earth are we going to get 13M for Joe Cole. He's 29 and an injury risk. Sure, he's got the Engerland tax, but I still think it's optimistic.

I disagree with selling Ngog and Aquilani doesn't want to come back, the rest I agree with in terms of sales.

Yeah, it all won't happen as you suggest. I reckon you're going to be very pleasantly surprised by Henry and Commoli come next summer though.

I wouldn't sell Joe Cole. With a more attacking minded manager I think he'd become a very good player for us.

Fucking freak!

I'm listening to the blueprint as I type this out.

Get the fuck out of my head

cheers oncy, i love these fantasy threads. my youngsters-based revolution:

sell

babel £7m
aquilani £13m
kuyt £10m
ngog £4m
poulsen £2m
konchesky £2m

TOTAL £38m

buy

hazard £20m
lukaku £18m
sakho £12m
m'vila £10m
gervinho £10m
a left-back £10m

TOTAL £80m

net investment = £42m

the above 5 promising younsters are pretty much interchangeable, naturally, with whichever promising young starlet i've never heard of we're linked with next.

1 million for Cole also seems a little ambitious considering nobody wanted him over the summer when he was free

Spurs were convinced they would get him.

They only got VDV because Cole chose us over them 🙁

We probably won't get the chance to recall Aquilani, I wouldn't be in favour of recalling Insua either but we will end up getting him back. He hasn't played much in the worst Galatasaray side I can remember. Naturally he'll improve a bit with age, but if he doesn't get himself in great shape it'll never happen for him in the Premiership.

1. Jones - ?
2. Johnson - Would be a nice contract to get out under from, but we'll never get what we paid for him and we'll end up subsidising his wages if we do get rid. I would sell under the right circumstances but I don't ever see them occurring.
3. Konchesky - No value to anyone, keep him and don't offer him another contract.
4. Meireles - Keep.
5. Agger - Look to offload in the Summer. Hopefully he will play a bit in the second half of the season and show glimpses of form that will entice bids. His wages are a problem though, and we'll end up subsidising his wages unless he is signed by one of the top 15 clubs in Europe. And I think that's unlikely.
6. Aurelio - I don't see the point in selling him.
8. Gerrard - Keep.
9. Torres - I think clubs will pay money for him based on his first season with us, but I don't think he'll ever reach those heights again. So if we get that stupid offer we should cash in. Somebody said it in another thread, he is Owen mark II.
10. J Cole - We're stuck with him.
12. Pacheco - Keep, i think he could be a Luis Garcia type.
14. Jovanovic - I think we're stuck with him. Won't get the money we gave him anywhere else, unless we agree to subsidize his wages.
16. Kyrgiakos - Keep but don't offer another contract.
17. Maxi - 70k a week ! I think he's only got two years on the deal left. Might as well see it out.
18. Kuyt - If the future is 4-4-2 then I don't want him on the right side of it. Either keep him as a striker or look to offload.
19. Babel - Why is he still here ? We reportedly had a £12m bid for him last year, when it was clear Benitez had no desire to play him. We should have taken it. Give him some gametime up front, hopefully he gets a few goals and tricks someone into believing he can be good.
21. Lucas - I'd happily get rid.
22. D Wilson - Keep
23. Carragher - We're stuck with him and his 90k a week.
24. Ngog - I don't think we'd get much for him right now, but if we could get £5m I'd sell.
25. Reina - Keep him for another 2/3 years. Then offload.
26. Spearing - If we get 2m I'd sell.
28. Poulsen - We're stuck with him.
30. Itandje - Likewise - he'll only leave when his contract is up.
32. Darby - he's got no future with us, sell/ no new contract / whatever
33. Shelvey - keep.
34. Kelly - keep.
36. Irwin - don't know or care.
37. Skrtel - keep.
39. Eccleston
40. Ayala
41. Hansen
42. Gulacsi
43. Bouzanis
44. Palsson
45. Ince
46. Amoo
47. Wisdom
48. Bruna
49. Robinson
- Aquilani - Juve will buy him for the £13m agreed fee. Gone.
- Brouwer
- Chamberlain
- Cooper
- Degen - We're probably stuck with him.
- El Zhar - no point in keeping.
- Flanagan
- Insua - we'll get him back.
- Kohlert
- Mavinga
- Mendy
- Roberts
- Saric
- Simon

Basically I think we've got fuck all room to manoeuver and we're stuck with a lot of players we don't want or need until their contracts run down. It's going to take a couple of years to turn things right around. And when we are looking for players we need to be looking at adding pace out wide for starters.

Ross, while I agree with most of what you said above but the Carragher bit is a bit harsh. ("Stuck with him&quot😉

I don't mind having him, but i think the contract extension for 90k a week means it's a bad deal.

Dim yet completely right. How odd.

No just dim if you think a new manager is the answer to our problems. Roy will be gone soon enough but so long as we have this squad of players we will struggle.

Well that's fair enough, but in my opinion a change of manager is a step forward. I don't want Roy buying anymore players.

Even Reina? I think we'd be crazy to get rid, considering how hard we found it to get a decent keeper before. And how hard United did, and Arsenal are...

Right now I don't think it is. NESV should use Hodgson as the fall guy to tear apart this squad and sack him when they're ready sanction the rebuilding.

Fans will blame the manager for pretty much everything, regardless of whether it's his call or not, so bringing in a new manager when (in my opinion anyway) a rebuild is needed is going to heap more pressure on a new man than is fair. It's already happened to Hodgson, we might as well stick with him til the end of the season while getting our house in order.

I actually agree with Redknapp's recent assertion that the game is 90% about the players and 10% about the tactics. And I think we have more problems in the 90% than in the 10%, so if we set about fixing those we'll see much more improvement.

Coupled with Hodgson's apparent unwillingness to resign from any job, this could be a genius idea.

I don't agree with you on Reina, Rosco. He's only 28 so could have 10 more years in top level. Besides, replacing 'keepers can be a bitch, especially in England.
I also don't like the idea of selling Torres but I do see your point there.

Other than that that's probably pretty much how things stand. I'd try to offload the likes of Konchesky et al. for free on the condition we don't have to subsidy their wages. If we can't fool anyone paying for them that is.

Spurs have been very good at offloading their deadwood at decent price in the last 5 years or so, haven't they? Anything to do with Comolli? *wishful thinking*
