The actual footy is back on! (v Arsenal)

Missed most of this through being out and then having a shit stream...

Is it as bad as glimpses I've caught?

Yes. Carrying on from the end of last season - slow, weirdly laboured play, very predictable. When we attempt to play out from the back it's like watching an obsessive-compulsive leave the house - same elaborate routine, over and over again. Ball to Robertson, inside to VVD, across to Gomez, up to Fabs, back to VVD, on to Robertson, back to VVD, back to Robertson, one-two, Robertson crosses to no one, end of possession, start all over again.

That's because Arsenal are dropping off and allowing the ball into our defenders feet whilst screening our forwards.

We either need more rotation in the midfield or more rotation from the forwards to allow for a penetrative pass.

They are countering very easily. Bring Keita on - we may as well have a bit more attacking competence.

I'd consider taking Fabinho off, moving Gini into the holding role.

Right now he looks very sluggish and leggy.

Yes, but most teams have been doing that for some time. Even when they're not doing it, we rarely speed up our game and/or be less predictable.

Some will say it’s just another pre season game but this is a worrying continuation of how we ended last season.

The formation change to 4-2-3-1 has made a big difference.

And of course the addition of Keita and Minamino.
