There is a long way to go to October though, so hopefully we’ll have a clearer picture of our revenue and sold some deadwood by then.
We have the time we need to improve the squad. Regarding Thiago, I can understand the reasoning for not paying 30 mill now when you can sign him for free on a pre contract in 3 months time.
Hopefully they’ll reduce the asking price and we can get him.

I am sure his agent will ask for increased sign-on fees and wages. The overall outlay might not reduce that much and we will be getting one less year out of him.

I ment more in our discussions with Bayern. Want to sign him this year

I get both sides of the argument and FSG do seem risk averse. I’d be slightly worried if we have this exact squad come the end of the window. Do i think the world will end? No. We do need upgrades across the pitch but we should easily make top 3 in a worse case scenario.

On the other hand, if we get another full on lockdown in November and null and void does happen we haven’t “wasted” money by spunking millions unnecessarily.

"They fully deserved the win. What Mikel Arteta has done with his Arsenal side is truly remarkable. I honestly can't see how anyone can stop him. The level he and Arsenal can reach is frightening."

No no, that's not me quoting myself, but quoting JK ... Perhaps a cheeky punt for them to Leicester the league?

I actually don't think we can 'easily' make top 3. Don't just look at the other squads around us, but also look at the coaches they have to get the best out of them. I think it will be a struggle and a hard fight for a top 4 finish, come next season - for all other teams except for Man City - it will be about consistency and mental strength, but on any given day they could beat each other including us. Man City will be determined to to win the league next season, United will be too, and Arsenal/Chelsea will be looking to improve, and you can never not think about a Jose Mourinho team even if it Spurs. Don't think it will be easy for us on any level. I wonder if we can perform as we have done this last season as I see it as the 2nd year of PL Winning form, and as you any given year we should have won with 97 points. So really we will be asking our team to show title winning form for the 3rd year running. City could not manage that with all their billions and it will be a bloody miracle if we show anything like the last season without new signings.
