The important thing is to give games to the likes of Kelly, Babel, Pacheco, Aurelio and Cole - and to tell them that if they play well, they have a chance of making the team for the PL match against Fulham. The likes of Skrtel, Konchesky, Kuyt and even Torres should be under pressure of losing their place after the Newcastle performance.

I have to get to Anfield from Lime Street at 4.30pm on Wednesday to meet Sunny's mate to pass me the ticket, then find a guest house on Salisbury Road for the night, then get back to Lime Street at 9 am the next day...

It's a dead rubber and all, but COME ON!!!

I think he's going to name a fairly decent team though.

After being tonked by a team as shit as Newcastle, he might want some sort of lift.

I know you all hate Poulsen but I wouldn't mind him alongside Shelvey for this tie, for all his flaws he's got a fair bit of routine and can at least keep the ball moving.

Playing and potentially injuring our current best midfielder in Raul is a big risk in a meaningless-game.
 
The boss also revealed David Ngog is unlikely to feature against Utrecht on Wednesday as he had stitches on a nasty cut to his eye during the defeat at Newcastle.

"I think if the game had been a semi-final of the competition or a really important qualification game and we really did need him I think he probably could play on Wednesday, but when you get a cut on your eye the longer we can leave it the better.

"You couldn't play with that cut and not get a ball landing on it at some stage during the game but I think he will be fine for the Fulham game."

If we are going to throw some kids in I'd rather we played most of the first team.

I hate it when up and coming players are forced to play aside dross and then at full time everyone wonders why said young guns didn't shine/ are overrated.

Is Torres still not fully fit or something?

He's been shite for the majority of the season or not. For his good and the rest of the sides, I'd start torres and tell him to tear the cunts up. Bring him off at half time when he's got the match ball in the bag.

The chances he missed at Newcastle didnt seem like those of an unfit player just one totally devoid of self-belief FUCKING STILL, he's like a women on her time of the month, so like a women lets let him big himself up against these lot, bury a few and come out chomping at the bit at the weekend?
Plus i'd like to see Pacheco play with Nando.

Lime Street at 4.30pm tomorrow,then to the King Harry to meet Sunny's mate at 6.30pm (he's got the ticket), then to Sam Dodds's bar on Salisbury Road after the game (I'm putting up at a dorm upstairs from a cafe opposite)..then get back to Lime Street at 9 am the next day...

Maybe the Harry or Sam Dodds?
 
Shelvey will be next to Roy at the press conference. So, he'll at least start.
