Hmmmm...

Zenden has just signed for Sunderland, they're trying to get clearance for him to play tomorrow.

Insua, Mascher and Lucas have returned, no injuries and fit.

2 of them will start tomorrow.

yipee :'(

we really have the crap cut of South Americans don't we

Imagine how excited we would be if someone said we are signing two argentinian internationals and a brazilian international, then we found out who they were, fuck it
You seem like the new breed of liverpool fan, constantly slagging off our players. Is the Captain of Argentina and new young left back not good enough for you then? Missing some step overs are you?

Are G&T 100% out so?
According to Rafa, yeah. But in another article on the Offal it shows pics from training today and Torres is in alot of them with the rest of the lads ??? Maybe they don't want to risk him.

Also, Aquillani is in the pics again training with the rest of the squad..

He wont want to risk them but no point losing point tomorrow either. It's obviously safer in the long run though.

Yeah the interview makes out that neither have travelled, so I guess that's that. And Rafa seems pissed about only getting Lucas, Insua and Masher back today. Good words for Darren Bent too..

God I wish we'd gone for him 🙁

I'm hoping for....

--------------------Reina------------------

Johnson----Carra------Agger-------Aurelio

-----------------Masher-----Spearing-----------

Babel---------------Yossi---------------Riera

-------------------Kuyt----------------------

I'd take that Budha, though it'd be interesting to see Lucas/Spearing too.

Almost.

This could be like the Portsmouth-away game from last season, where Rafa just goes for broke and fucks out the most mind-boggling side ever seen.

Expect anything today folks.

Hope it ends the same way as Portsmouth last year, today is the beginning of a massive week that could define our season.

So any predictions for this game then?

I'm going for 2-2
I fancy us to keep a clean sheet, and to nick a late winner. I'm rarely wrong, so that's grounds for optimism for you all.

I think Yossi will be the key for us in an attacking sense today. He's the only player we've got who's really creative. Kuyt might nod in a rebound; Riera might make a decent cross; but if Sunderland are well-organised defensively, the only unpredictable spark we've got is Benayoun. Unless by some miracle Babel decides today is the day to prove his 'haters' wrong...

I happen to agree, so that's grounds for optimism for you.

BTW Cascarino was up to his usual in "The Times" yesterday. Apparently, if Kenwyne Jones is fit our CBs "won't cope with him". Maybe a Scouser stole Cascara's girlfriend once, or some such.

Kenwyne Jones is a white Niall Quinn.

Lets face it not having G n T is worrying but it could work in our favour because it will force the other players to grab a bit of responsibility and have a go.... they stepped up last year and did just that to be fair.

Mind you we did have Alonso on the pitch...and Sunderland are more than capable opponents.

This incidentally could be a match of instant redemption for Lucas.
