You really are deluded. Gerrard and Kuyt, Gerrard and Babel, Kuyt and Babel. All far better options than anything involving David N'Gog.
N'Gog seems to score for the reserves whenever he plays and scored in the Carling Cup. I don't think hes very good but if he gets a chance tonight he deserves it.

I'd play Nemeth ahead of him but Nemeth's out on loan so i reckon the above partnership will win us games than anything involving N'Gog.

Re: Team for LYON

Nemeth's out on loan for a good reason. If he was good enough now he would still be here. I don't see what the big deal is with the lad.

that's your opinion i think babel is a good rap singer and not a football player maybe i am deluded just my opinion from watching babel blindly running about on the pitch

So you think N'Gog's a better player than Nemeth?? You need a slap if you think so.

I think hes better suited to playing up front on his own. Hes stronger and quicker than Nemeth. Id rather play against Nemeth rather than N'Gog anyway.

Anyways its a pointless argument though because i don't rate either player.

And you never watch the reserves. Which means you've hardly watched Nemeth and don't know what you're talking about.

I watch 30 mins here and there. I can't take much more. The standard is poor and Plessis tends to play which makes me want to change channel or go out.

Re: Team for LYON

N'gog alone upfront!? Kinell
He wouldnt even make the bench at Lyon that lad.

Is Riera injured? There must be something going wrong there.
Another piece of Rafa's management magic?

Re: Team for LYON

From the offal...

Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard is fit to play against Lyon in Tuesday's Champions League Group E clash but striker Fernando Torres misses out.

Midfielder Gerrard sat out Saturday's controversial 1-0 Premier League defeat to Sunderland with a groin injury but returned to training on Monday.

"It's important as we have had injury problems. Having Gerrard fit is a big boost for us," said boss Rafa Benitez.

Spanish international Torres is still recovering from an abdominal problem.

Benitez added: "Fernando is not close enough to fitness to be considered. He will miss this one but I hope he will be OK to play against Manchester United next weekend."

Liverpool lie third in Group E after a win and a defeat, while Lyon have won their opening two matches.

Argentine duo Javier Mascherano and Emiliano Insua are both set to start after sitting on the bench at the Stadium of Light following international duty.

With Torres out, who would you play up front? I would go Babel and Kuyt

The Reds' loss at Sunderland was their fourth defeat in the league already this season, twice as many as they suffered in their last Premier League campaign.

But Benitez remains convinced they can turn their fortunes around, starting with Lyon and continuing with the visit of United to Anfield on Sunday.

"You can guarantee that if we win against Lyon the mood will change, and if we can win against United, the mood will be totally different," said the Spaniard.

"When you are not winning, to play another game quickly and have the opportunity to change things is the best thing.

"We will try to win and then everything will be different. A positive result would be massive for our confidence."

Defender Jamie Carragher, who skippered the side in the absence of Gerrard at Sunderland, says Liverpool must work hard to get back to winning ways.

"We will stick together and work hard on the training ground to put things right," he said. "We know we've got a good team, good players and a good manager so we've got to have belief in ourselves and keep going.

"We have the quality and the belief we will get back to winning ways soon, hopefully starting on Tuesday against Lyon."

Lyon lost 2-0 to Sochaux on Saturday, their first defeat of the season, and were missing injured defenders Cleber Anderson, Mathieu Bodmer and Jean-Alain Boumsong.

Sidney Govou and Kim Kallstrom could play after sitting on the bench on Saturday, while Lisandro Lopez will continue to start up front despite a groin strain.

Hasn't Aquilani been in full training this week?
Is he eligible for the group stages because of his injury?

I get your point, meaningless internationals always spell injuries for us, but Riera's injury reportedly happened in training at Melwood.

I'm pretty sure Rafa named him in our CL squad, so yes.

Re: Team for LYON

Yes he is in the CL squad.

Aquilani is due to play in the reserve game tomorrow, so maybe he's in with a chance of being on the bench this weekend.

Beeing better than Spearing and Aurelio and more fit than Aquilani.

in a nutshell. I have to admit I had a chuckle at the people who said spearing should get in ahead of lucas because he couldn't possibly be worse...obviously spearing missed that memo.

FACT: All-round, Lucas was shitter than Spearing at the weekend.

ANOTHER FACT: Neither of them are good enough.

I'd have played Gerrard in midfield with Masher, and Babel upfront with NGog. Yeah, I said it.
