---------------- Reina -----------

Johnson --- Carra --- Greek --- Kelly

Yossi --- Mascherano --- Gerrard -- Babel

----------- Kuyt ----- Torres -------

A couple of things:

- Before anyone even bothers to suggest Rafa should start fielding kids; dont'. Cos he won't. If you think Rafa's gonna give a bunch of inexperienced teenagers the opportunity they might need when he's under the immense pressure he is, then you're fucking warped. He'll play as close to the strongest possible side he can.

- He might give those coming back from injury a chance, mixed with those who've been on the bench reently. Aquilani, Babel, Johnson, Riera are all in with a shout.

i agree with you, the ressies do not have a chance at the moment.

i think he will go with something like:

---------------- Reina -----------

Johnson --- Carra --- Agger --- insua

Kuyt --- Mascher --- Lucas -- Maxi

----------- Gerrard

--------------- Torres

They rarely ever have a chance.

Australians - We're on ESPN at 5am (NSW/VIC time) on Friday morning for this one.

Dreambeliever Tommy Smyth commentating. Wonderful.

To be honest, I couldn't give a fuck.
I've had it with this season, and I want it to end. Soon.

I want rid of Rafa and the owners, and then start believing again.

I think Ryan is right, Maxi isn't eligible.

You know, picking these teams shows why we can't really make a new look at all. We have a lot of very similar players, at least in terms of how dynamic they are, and the positions they occupy. I wouldn't mind shunting Gerrard out right and seeing what happens, but we'll stick with some variation of the same old.

I think I'd put Carra at left back and stick Agger in with the Greek. We simply can't afford to play Insua with anyone other than Riera in front of him. Neither Babel or Yossi give him the protection he needs (and Yossi is shit on the left anyway). I'd go with something like this:

---------------- Reina -----------

Johnson --- Agger --- Greek --- Carra

Maxi ---- Mascher --- Gerrard --- Babel

----------- Kuyt ----- Torres

I wouldn't be against swapping Kuyt for Yossi. Kuyt was horrific on Monday after all.

EDIT: Or Yossi in for Maxi if he's cup tied.

Yossi is injured, and Agger has been sick. They're both a doubt for tomorrows game.

Aquilani HAS to play..

Is Riera fit? I'd play him.

----------------- Reina
Johnson --- Carra --- Zorba --- Aurelio
--------------- Masher
Babel --- Gerrard --- Aquilani --- Riera
--------------- Torres

If Aurelio is not fit, I'd play Insua.

If Riera is not fit, I'd play Yossi wide right and Babel on the left.

If Torres is too tired, I'd play N'Gog.

-----------Reina-----------
Johnson-Carra-Greek-Agger-
----------Masher-----------
------Gerrard-Aquilani-------
-Yossi---------------Babel--
----------Torres------------

Gerrard and Torres need games, Kuyt needs a rest after his poor show on Monday, Insua and Lucas need taking out the firing line. Let our infallible experienced players take the flack for once instead of the two scapegoats, then again, we'll win without Lucas and Insua in the side because there's never been bigger useless cunts playing for Liverpool... ZZZzzzzzzzzzz.....

Lucas was certainly a scapegoat last game, as well as many others, but Insua was just awful, with Mascherano, Kyrgiakos and especially Lucas, told to do help him out every time he needed to be a left back. We need to not have to play Insua again. Agger at the left does that, if he can play.

I wouldn't mind:

GJ-Carra-Greek-Agger
Gerrard-Mascher--Aquilani--Riera
------Babel--Torres--------

But we'll never see that, or a bunch of other hopeful suggestions. Kuyt absolutely needs a sit down.

babel should start. I'm going to be extremely fucked off if he doesn't, its like we want to squeeze every last drop of confidence out of him.

Yeah I agree, Insua was poor, but there's been many a game this season where he's taken the flack before he's kicked a ball. We should have a decent left back with Insua as cover, ditto Lucas really.

I don't really see what Rafa's got to lose. If he plays him he can't be doing any worse than anyone else who's played there this season, including the mediocre 'yeah but he gives us balance' Riera, and you know how much Babel does my head in.

If Babel does well it'll raise interest, get him in the World Cup squad and hopefully this will either have a knock on effect for his transfer fee or even the slim chance that he could actually have a future here. He deserved to start against Blackburn anyway.

When you're nice, you're oh so very nice! 😉

babel should play and kuyt should drop to the bench if for no other reason to give one a much needed rest and the other a much needed boost of confidence.

Are Lille any good? Pointless question, given we just got beat against Wigan, but anyway.

I don't think I've known a player like Babel LTW, not many anyway. He's clearly got something, whether it's just the physical attributes or whatever, I don't know. But he can play, but then he'll look brainless and make daft decisions.

I think sometimes he's needed the arm around the shoulder, the problem being that at this level it's rarely afforded by any manager.

I think liverpool are so utterly erratic in the league and in europe we could lose to *insert shit league side* and beat a top europe within a week. that pretty much what happened last season when we lost to m'bro (I think) and then beat real madrid away.

Reina

Johnson Carra Kyrgiakos Insua

Mascherano Aquillani

Babel Pacheco Riera

Ngog

The reason why I've dropped Torres, Gerrard, Kuyt among others is that they seem to lack the hunger to win. I say play the ressies and let them remind us how it looks when a player is trying to prove himself. Can't believe that Pacheco was dropped after providing a game saving assist against Unirea.

its weird I normally HATE players like babel with little or no control (I certainly disliked cisse) but there is something about babel. maybe I wrote him off ages ago but still defend him out of habit rather than believing he'll amount to anything.

I don't really care, but Insewer and Lucarse shouldn't play, because they're truly awful players, however the squad is so thin we may have no choice.

If we were going on Monday's display, Kuyt and Casper should also be dropped (in fact one could make a case for most of the team).

Certainly Babel and Aquilani must start.

Thinking about it, I prefer that team to mine. Aquilani needs games after all.

However, I stand by my assertion that Insua needs someone who will protect him, and Babel doesn't fit the bill in that respect. Insua and Riera have also shown promise going forward on occasion too. Insua should only start if Riera is ahead of him.

Yeah that team, although I am pretty sure Aurelio is unfit, which on leaves us with the Tubby Disaster at LB

I would perhaps play Babel on the left and Casper on the right, fuck Riera

Reina

Magic - Zorba - Agger - Carra

Mascher - Aquilani

Gerrard - Yossi - Babel

Torres

And if anyone, including Gerrard, looks like they really couldn't give a shit, we should substitute them at HT.
