Why? I'm curious to see Ecclestone, but a CM of Spearing and Plessis looks desperately poor to me, on paper at least. I'd like us to beat Arsenal, so I'm not happy with that team at all.

And players can get injured while they're training or (*cough* Fabio Aurelio *cough*) playing with their kids on the beach, so I've never really understood the 'don't play him, he might get injured' argument. I'd have thought Torres could do with improving his match fitness for example.

Nope thats not predicted that is what will be played tomorrow. Its already mentioned in the thread that patcheco is with the spanish squad so won't feature.

Ecclestone has been very good for the reserves this season, so I'm pleased to see him get an opportunity like this. Hope he can do well.

With regards to the Spearing / Plessis midfield, it will really depend on who they're up against. At reserve level, they have proven to be a decent partnership - at least they were when they won the league.

I wont be a hyprocrite and say I think this competition is top priority but come on guys its been years since with won something (anything).
ideal time to test the skrtel/agger partnership, aurelio could gain more match fitness, lucas to build on his confidence.
I can see WHY he is doing it but I wish the team were stronger.

I can see both of your points, which is why my team was stronger than the given one aswell.

I just think, some of these players are onto a hiding in these games, how are they to show what they can really do without the benefit of some experience in there, and by experience I mean players who are settled into our way of playing via being fairly regular players for us. There's only really Skrtel who can offer that, otherwise it's a disjointed side waiting to be hammered. No good for anyone really.

But as Ryan said, we can't have it both ways, and the likes of Lucas probably need a breather.

I read a report from Liverpool.no, that the coaching staff at Anfield, Rafa in particular are very upset with the Spanish FA. They're very firm on getting Pacheco to play for Spain U-19, so he won't be availeble tonight.
Otherwise he would have made his debut..

I know, whatcha gonna do? I kinda agree with what someone said on another forum, if you can't even trust the fringe in THIS competition then there is no point having them, and I agree to an extent but arsenal's kids are very good.
