I think the idea is to buy players who have a decent track record, but still have enough years to contribute, rather than a bunch of <22 year olds who may or may not work out. More Mertens and Honda type players at this juncture than Heung-Min Son's.

Good point whirly and the 2 players mentioned would be cracking buys! I think it's about having the right attitude as well like others have said, this is why I'd like us to sign papadopolous he gets stuck in and wears his heart on his sleeve. Plus where has signing quality experienced players gotten us recently, Joe Cole garbage, jovanovic garbage go a bit further back morientes he was fucking shit for us.
