We need English players though and considering budget restraints, FSG are not selling and may not find an investor we need to look at players that are going to be good for 3 years. Morton might succeed by then or we find more nuggets. Kone from Watford looks decent and only 20.
I was for Olise when he cost only £8.5m and I thought why are we not getting him, it's a no brainer. what would be the price you could see him leaving CP for? £40m? We are stacked in attacking players, so not sure how much more those attacking players you mention will develop further because game of minimal game time
Jacob Ramsey won't go for anything less than £70m. Connor Gallagher - if he is cheap, I'd be okay with if it meant CJ left. Lookman is doing well in Italy, but lets be honest, it's a league where the top scorer has been 37 in the past.

We don’t need exclusively “English” players (anyway, it’s home grown that’s important) - Jones needs to be registered next season, so too would Clarkson & Van Den Berg (who would qualify as home grown), if we keep both.
Anyway - I reckon £200m gets us Bellingham + Mount, that will be it.
Since I've never seen either Clarkson and VDB play... are they good enough to be squad options ? Look at CJ, injury prone, doesn't really do much to impact our game.

We’ll lose Adrian, Ox, Milner, Keita & Bobby (I’m not counting Melo, because I could replace him and offer as much) - with decisions on registering Rhys Williams, Clarkson & VDB due. We know Jones is getting registered, whether you like it or not and he’ll likely replace either Ox.
We’ve already replaced Bobby with Gakpo and Adrian shouldn’t money spent replacing.
So - two really fucking good players for £200m along with Morton & Bradley returning and Carvalho, Elliot, Ramsey & Badgertits not needing to be registered, might be enough.
Maybe we pick up a freebie, a couple more kids or other assorted cheapies.
Unless we start selling more, we don’t need to buy much more - sure we’ll need another MF in a year when Thiago fucks off , but that can wait.

As David Lynch said in his podcast. We should look to sell Kostas and sign Gvardiol. He can play both LCB and LB.

Gvardiol is basically trying to get a move to us in every interview. Konate - Gvardiol could be an insane CB pairing going forward.

We could try to sell Curtis Jones for Jacob Ramsey - that might be worth doing too.
You know I have been moaning about getting in MFs for two seasons now. Even in the winter window, I thought they'd learn their lesson, and we might get a MF. I liked the Gakpo signing but we still needed a MF and we what did we get, an update that Melo is still a few weeks from playing. So much for him coming back 3 weeks early
I'm disappointed we aren't getting the backing of state which puts us at a disadvantage... As FSG are staying much to my annoyance, they're doing what's right for them. We have to move on. I just hope when we get a Sporting Director who will get £80-£100m net with the stadium expansion revenues kicking in along with new sponsorship deals. With football inflation as it is, any player under 25 that has a brilliant few months is being priced at €100m.
You think I value quantity over quality, to an extent its true... I know Klopp will train them to be better, I also know Klopp's method means we have way more injuries and hence numbers.

Note that he said changes to the squad, not additions to the squad. Letting Ox, Milner, and Keita go with zero or one midfielder incoming counts as changes to the squad.
Those two would cost between £200-£220m, I wouldn't be opposed as long as we then went into the Free Agents and signed 2-3 of them

We need two midfielders - who will form a spine of the next push with Badger.
We need a CB or two who will replace Gomez & Matip, if not VvD
That's 3-4 players ... hopefully the owners can invest, and our break from CL footy isn't long assuming we don't find a way to get 4th this year.
James is no Maldini in terms of awareness, but still a good one in my opinion. Especially in 1 v 1 battles (pace/power) and that's very necessary when up against many wingers nowadays. Your Zahas', St Maxims' and Mitomas' will often skip by Trent in the league but their end product is usually lacking and Hendo/others can cover. Players like Vini Jnr/Kvaratskhelia, don't let you get away with it. If Hendo/Gomez comes across, just means more space for Modric/Benzema/others to cause havoc.
James, AWB and Walker are players I've seen consistently defend players like Leao, Sterling, Vini Jnr in 1 v 1 situations and come out with some credit (they might get beaten 4/5 times out of 10, but not 9 times out of 10!?).
Trent is pretty much like a cone. He needs so much back up/cover. Maybe that's why Hendo is knackered, and why Gomez has so many howlers. If Trent could have got out to Vini, we might not have conceded the first and third goal.
As for the midfield. I think we need another 3 midfielders. Badger might prove a good player, but I don't see anything exceptional right now. He can be our 4th midfielder.
I also think we need a Gvardiol too. Just don't know if we have the money for it. If Konate could stay fit, we'd be fine. He was magnificent covering Vini in the CL final.
