It don't matter cause they ain't going down.. But even if they did they wouldn't sell to us surely?

Maybe we should look to bring in whoever is coaching Brentford's throw ins 😛

[article]Liverpool initially ranked 18th in the Premier League for taking throw-ins when under pressure, meaning they often lost the ball when restarting play but Gronnemark's coaching saw a dramatic rise at Anfield, to the point where they were retaining possession over 68% of the time. That was a tally which took them to the top spot in England and second in Europe behind only FC Midtjylland, who were the other club who the specialist was working with at the time.

......

The ECHO understands Liverpool are looking to use their own in-house throwing coaches from next season onwards as Klopp plots a way back towards the top of English football this summer and with Gronnemark unable to visit the club's Kirkby base of often as he did at the beginning of their working relationship, it's been mutually decided that he will step now away for good.[/article]

More changes in the backroom

16 Goal and 9 Assists in the Eredivisie, 19G and 12A in all comps.
PSV are known not to be greedy bastards - £40m?
Could he be one of those surprise signings, an alternative to Mount? He is a MF, plays in the Dutch League, and scores goals from a MF position.

I think we're going to seriously regret only looking in the Prem for our summer activity.

I get there being a lot of attention of Brighton and their players....but they come at a premium, we could find players of equal quality overseas and not be subject to that premium.

Neil Jones said that... If its true and its a big IF (I don't know Neil Jones credentials)... Then if its the players that Klopp wants and the club gives him the cash to get them I don't see it being a problem. During Klopp's reign, its been about quantity (or lack of) rather than the quality (most signings have excelled)
If you believe him saying we're not interested in Ugarte, why is Sporting threating to report us to UEFA for tapping? It might be agent talk but the South American Journos are all saying our interest is concrete

Sporting CP are reportedly threatening to report Liverpool for tapping up Manuel Ugarte mid-season.

According to Portuguese outlet, Corrie de Manha, Sporting are prohibiting talks between Ugarte and other clubs after the Uruguayan midfielder's agent's recent comments. His agent said that the 22-year-old is set to leave the club in the summer.
Ugarte's agent also namedropped Liverpool in his statement about the player's future. He opened the door for a potential move to Anfield:

Neil is certainly 1 of the more recognisable figures out there, certainly more credibility about him than any of the south americans that's for sure.

If Simons was on the cards I'd be happy. But he won't be
He is small, and lightweight but nimble and tenacious. There is a scouting report on him on Pep's desk. This is of course a guess

Jürgen Klopp has a big summer ahead at Anfield, with his group of players appeared tired and worn this term after years of loyal service. The Reds are searching the market for targets before the opening of the summer transfer window, but who might Liverpool have been scouting when PSV met Ajax?

Ibrahim Sangaré (PSV Eindhoven)

A player who was linked with a move to all three of Liverpool, Arsenal and Manchester United last year was Ibrahim Sangaré, but he ended up extending his contract in Eindhoven after a summer of speculation.
The Ivory Coast international is a physical and imposing presence in the center, standing around 1.91m tall, and that is what Klopp originally seemed to want given his interest in Aurélien Tchouaméni — before his move to Real Madrid last year — and Jude Bellingham.

Now aged 25, he's accustomed to regaining the ball on a regular basis. In fact, according to FBref, he ranks in the 90th percentile among midfielders across Europe's 'next eight' leagues this season for tackles, and in the 88th percentile for progressive passes, which paints him as a relatively complete performer. As an all-rounder who is inclined to lean towards the defensive side of the game, Sangaré looks like a good solution to solve Liverpool's ongoing defensive issues.
Jurrien Timber (Ajax)

Although he witnessed his team concede three goals in the game, Jurrien Timber is a player who is growing in promise, and he's being tipped for a move as he continues to impress in his homeland. Now aged 21, the Dutch international appears ready to move away from the Eredivisie in the near future.
Liverpool is well-stocked in the center of defence right now, but this summer, Nat Phillips and Joël Matip could potentially depart, opening up a space in the department for Timber to occupy. He isn't as physically imposing as the likes of Virgil van Dijk or Ibrahima Konaté, but unlike those two, he can play in different positions.
Perhaps most interestingly, Liverpool recently moved towards a new-look 3-2-5 shape with possession, which consists of Trent Alexander-Arnold drifting inside to play in central midfielder next to Fabinho. Within that shape, Timber seems suited, as he's gained experience as a full-back in the past.
With a contract which is due to expire in two years, a transfer could be on the cards for him in the coming months.
Xavi Simons (PSV Eindhoven)

Xavi Simons is in the process of experiencing his first real breakthrough campaign as a starter in a major league, having been poached from the highly-rated youth academy of Paris Saint-Germain last summer, who have allowed the likes of Christopher Nkunku and Moussa Diaby to leave in past windows.

The rapid evolution showcased by the youngster perhaps explains why PSG made the shrewd decision to insert a buy-back clause in the deal which allowed him to depart, as confirmed by the player himself, per Football Oranje. He almost depicts shades of Roberto Firmino on the field, who is set to leave Anfield at the end of the season after spending around eight years on Merseyside.
Simons has made quite a statement in the Eredivisie since his transfer, scoring 15 times while registering eight assists in just 2,443 minutes of football, which equates to a scoring return roughly every 106 minutes in the Dutch top-flight. He's lightweight and agile in the smallest of spaces, and has quite a versatile skill set.
Standing just 1.68m tall, there is a question mark attached to whether Simons would cope with the physical edge attached to English football, although it is reasonable to suggest that he's technical, tricky and quick enough to prosper within the right system.

Like Nunes, can we sign such players before they go to Wolves/Fulham next time?

[article]Joao Palhinha’s absence through suspension was a huge blow for Fulham. The Portugal international has made a big impression since arriving from Sporting in the summer. His brilliant performances, though, come as a double-edged sword for the Cottagers.

He still has over four year left to run on his current deal with Fulham, so they are under no pressure to entertain losing him. But make no mistake, the vultures are circling. Liverpool are understood to be the most serious suitor but there are others.

He was signed for £20million, but sources claim that Fulham now value Palhinha closer to treble that amount. But even at £60million, Palhinha would be close to half the price of Jurgen Klopp’s No 1 central midfield target Jude Bellingham.

Fulham are confident that they can keep Palhinha for a least one more year - but interest is growing.[/article]

I’m old enough to remember when he was supposed to be signing on at Anfield…

Look at these youngsters. Houllier being Zidane's son's godfather and Zidane house hunting in the Wirral is when I started. The next generation was Rafa bringing Aimar, and Baraja to Anfield. Then started our annual links to Arda Turan.

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has a significant shopping list of players he wants to sign in the summer.

Despite a massive 7-0 win over Manchester United at the weekend, Klopp wants revolution in the off-season.

He is aware that performances have not been good enough this season as a whole, which means many players may be on the chopping block.

Sky Germany claim there are nine players on the shopping list that Klopp and his transfer committee have put together.

Those include RB Leipzig star Josko Gvardiol, Evan N'Dicka (Eintracht Frankfurt), Jurrien Timber (Ajax), Jude Bellingham (Borussia Dortmund), Edson Alvarez (Ajax), Ismael Bennacer (AC Milan), Ruben Neves (Wolves), Youri Tielemans (Leicester) and Nicolo Barella (Inter Milan).

The club see signing a central midfielder and a centre back as their main priorities.

Dortmund & Bayern in for Ajax's Alvarez

Sad to see Milner and Firmino go, but they've both been amazing. Good luck to them.

On the whole I think Ox was a decent enough signing and had some very good moments. It's been clear for a few years now though that his time is up with us.

I have frequently forgotten that Keita even existed. Complete waste of money.
