Summer rebuild 2023

[article]Liverpool are jumping into the battle for Celta Vigo whiz Gabri Veiga.

That's according to local journalist Anton Meana, who said on Cadena Ser's El Larguero programme that Liverpool “love" Veiga.

Meana states the Reds can be considered as one of his main suitors.

To sign him, they could activate his €40million (£35m) release clause. There may even be a chance for Veiga to move for less than that amount.

He has had a breakout season in La Liga and the 20-year-old has scored nine goals, assisting three times in 25 appearances.

Real Madrid and Arsenal are also interested in the attacker.[/article]

[article]Anderlecht goalkeeper Bart Verbruggen is a summer transfer target for Liverpool.

The Premier League giants are hoping to bring in a new reserve keeper after the season concludes.

Present reserve stopper Caoimhin Kelleher may want to leave for regular first-team football.

Per HLN in Belgium, if the Reds go after Verbruggen as his replacement, they will have to pay around €13 million.

In addition, the outlet states that Manchester United are interested in the shot stopper.

The Red Devils may ditch both David De Gea and Dean Henderson this summer.[/article]

This is the way - hovering up loadsa cheap talent now.

Sell Irish Kevin for 2-3 times what we sign the Belgian lad for and pick up a new oldie keeper on a free.

That’ll do.

OK - here's my input to the summer rebuild debate.

Midfield is the obvious area for strengthening. We need a big name instant starter, that would have been Bellingham, but it seems that ship has sailed, so we should redouble our efforts to get Declan Rice.
That clearly isn't enough, we need at least one more squaddie for midfield. There is a guy who caught my eye, currently playing in the Belgian league, but a product of the PSV Eindhoven academy - a busy little midfielder by the name of Fries Deschilder.

Then, as Bobby is leaving, we need to strengthen up top. We don't need a superstar starter as we are will loaded there, but a sort of Origi replacement. For this I suggest we raid the US leagues and take Mitchell Currie from Hartford Athletic. While he plies his trade in the US, he is English born & developed (home grown quota) - a fast front man who can play through the middle or on the right (see him as a Salah understudy).

Simples - Curry, Rice & Fries is what we need.

What we need is Tikka Mo Salah

This guy would be complement Rice much better:

A perfect pairing on the pitch as well as on the plate.

Napoli, Arsenal and Dortmund are all clubs that if the season ends like it is now will have upset the applecart.
There are lessons we could learn from each club when it comes to recruitment and player development.

Ornstein said yesterday that we arent out of the race and could stlll
sign Bellingham. The story will change back and forth until he has officially said who he is joining.

[article]Bayer Leverkusen have parted ways with high-rated squad manager and scout Time Steidten, as reported by Kicker.

The 43-year-old moved to B04 in 2019 from Werder Bremen. Working under sports director Simon Rolfes, Steidten has been responsible for securing a number of young talents who have gone on to attract attention from around the world. Some of the players Steidten attracted to Bayer include Edmond Tapsoba, Jeremie Frimpong, and Piero Hincapie.

Known as the pearl diver, it comes as a bit of a surprise that Bayer would let such an asset go with immediate effect. His qualities have also attracted the attention of Premier League side Chelsea. Towards the end of last year, Steidten was in talks with the London club about joining their team in a similar position that he then held at Bayer.

The club must now act fast to replace Steidten. B04 have little chance of securing Champions League or European football this season. An experienced squad manager and scout such as Steidten would go a long way to helping the team get back to its former glory. [/article]

[article]Bayer Leverkusen's former chief scout Tim Steidten admits he has several offers.

However, he insists no decision has been made about his next move.

Steidten told Weser Kurier: “I'm totally open and haven't signed with any club yet. I've had a lot of conversations over the past few days. Before that, I only spoke to Chelsea FC.

"I feel ready tackling a new project.

“I have to feel that my word carries weight. It has to be a function in which I can implement and change things. That was the case with Werder and also with Bayer. I don't know yet whether it will be a club again or a multi-club ownership model or something completely different."[/article]

There is no story. They are just creating meaningless content.

"it may rain next week... Or it may not. I'll let you guys know if anything changes"

Italian Journo Fabizo Romano claiming Liverpool very interested in Florian Wirtz. If we did go for him, it would not surprise me. Klopp always likes a few "Tiny Tim's" in the team.
The kid is a serious talent but a) he will cost the earth b) he has just come back from a serious injury.

He’s a fantastic prospect but I’d want to know that his injury is fully resolved with no ongoing risks.

If that’s the case, we could do a lot Wirtz as a first choice option.

Barca can't even potentially keep hold of Gavi. How the fuck are they expecting to get Wirtz? Thats as unrealistic as us expecting to get him
