It depends whether people mean DM or a more general CM. I can see the need for a DM, definitely, but IMO that would be best handled by moving Can to midfield and keeping Lucas on.

I'd like to see Milner sign as further depth in MF, but nothing more ambitious than that.

I think it does as just his presence in the squad is a number in the midfield is pretty key. And before last season I think very few had entertained the thought of replacing him. Even last year he was an important player there, he just also caused other problems but to say he wasnt important is a bit OTT.

He was an important player because of his status and aura, and ideally that would be replaced, but it can't be, so I'd concentrate on the problems that can be solved. 🙂

I was thinking that until the last couple of games before his injury, when he seemed to me to be celebrating goals particularly enthusiastically, so I'm just not sure now.
