The elephant in the room is that Ajax have said they don't want to sell, and certainly not at the prices mooted. Suarez might want to come, his agent might want him to come, and he might want to come, but if Ajax want to keep him until the end of the season then that's it.

Should we therefore sign someone else instead, sign a lesser player now and hope we can afford whatever Suarez' price may be next summer as well, or struggle on and wait the season out? I'm not velcroed to the Suarez option so I favour looking elsewhere.
