So what is our 'style'?

We've moved from 'death by football', to losing but playing pretty football to 'winning ugly' to 'losing ugly' in the space of a few short months. So what is our much-vaunted style?
First we had winning possession back in under six seconds and all that tippy tappy at the back with CBs wide apart, but recently we've gone all out early, scored early, then soaked up pressure and won one-nil. Even though we've looked knackered in the second half.Then suddenly we have four CBs in defence.

Our "style" returns tonight (ie. Suarez)

That's a good question. At the start of last season we played some good possession football, but were open as fuck at the back. This year so far, we seem less capable of keeping the ball, but more solid at the back. It seems in some ways that rather than tweak his "philosiphy", Rodgers has completely overhauled it. We don't really seem to have a distinctive style at the moment. We just look lost without Suarez and Coutinho. Let's hope it becomes more apparent as the season wears on.

I thought Southampton ( of all clubs! ) gave an excellent example of how Rodgers intends us to play. They doubled up very tight when we were on the ball making it very difficult for us to get our passing game going, forcing us to play it long time and time again to relieve pressure and concede possession. They then moved the ball very quickly around the pitch. I thought they looked a really good team. We just don't appear equipped to carry this out physically.

It's weird though, because the second half of last season showed we could keep possession, put the pressure on, stay solid and win games.
I don't know how we could have gone backwards with basically the same players, minus Carra and Downing.

I'd say our style of play is 'hesitant'. We often look hesitant and nervous, particularly in winning positions and back off inviting pressure. It's almost as if we lack belief and a winning mentality. Hopefully some 'conviction' will return with the irrepressible Suarez.
