so, spurs. do you think we have a chance?

Nope, though it comes on the back of their CL game. It'll be interesting to see if Roy puts Johnson up against Bale, it might be a good thing because it could force Bale back, on the other hand he could just rape Johnson.

I wouldn't be surprised if we snook it to be fair.

I never know what to expect with Woy, if we turn up,we've got a chance..We've got a dirty record against spurs though in recent years, so i'm going to plump for a 2-2 draw.

We'll need all 11 players to step up to the mark though.

I'm going down for it and having the weekend in London. The last two we got beat 2-1, the first of them we murdered them and then threw the game away in the last couple of minutes, but last year on the opening day of the season we got outplayed, particularly by Modric. I can see us losing by a similar margin - because he'll set us up for a draw.

We've been hit and miss at WHL, we've done them there a few times though, it just depends on which team turns up. This is another BIG away game and we've fucked up every one so far so if we capitulate again he should be out on his ear.

According to bookies we have almost a 30% chance of winning! And better yet there is an over 50% chance of either drawing or winning!

I was just thinking about that game two seasons ago. It was one of only two we lost that season, yet we were so fucking good in that match. One of our great team performances under Rafa. Hard to believe that both Spurs and ourselves can change so dramatically in such a short time.

We're underdogs for this match without a doubt. If Tottenham play to their potential and we perform like we did against Wigan and Stoke, then we'll lose. But they are very inconsistent, especially after CL matches, and we are still Liverpool. If we can show the same spirit and togetherness we showed against Chelsea, then three points aren't impossible.

There's always a chance.

Could be a very tight game with us stealing all three.

Was hoping to get to a London game but the damn thing was sold out ages ago.

Crump is really good at this.

We'll string 10 players across the edge of the box trying desperately to keep them out for 90 minutes.

Our attacking will consist of long hopeful punts up to Torres and praying like fuck that he pulls something out of his arse.

I can't hardly wait.

More or less. Lucas will be back in the middle and Meireles will be flogged out to the right. And unless Spurs don't turn up at all, I fully expect us to lose.

If that's the case we'll lose. With a margin.

Hopefully Roy learnt a bit from the weekends game albeit the opponents hardly showed up. Still we are a far better team with players far more suited to be in possession instead of constantly chasing the ball around.

We need to be brave and go for the three points.

Roy will draw them onto our shaky defense rather than having a go at their shaky defense. As someone said earlier he will set up Johnson to keep out bale rather than let johonson run at bale. It's going to be a 'very' long afternoon...

Despite the fact that they have so many good CBs there, most of them are crocks. If the real Nando shows up and gets a half-decent service he could make hay against them. Spurs have to be favourites but I think we can upset the odds and win 1-0 or thereabouts.

Of course we do, on our day we can beat anyone and we can still field world class players despite Gerrard's injury. The players need to remember that.

Apart from the Citeh game some of our best performances this Season has been against top opponents mind.

United away in the second half, Arsenal at home (second half) and obviously the Chelsea game at Anfield.

I would be satisfied with a well earned point. Anything more than that would be marvelous bonus.

The only team to beat them this season at WHL, ironically, happens to be Wigan (1-0) in August. Other than that, their last Premier league home defeat date back to Dec 2009. That's abt 2 defeats in 20 home league games. With this in mind, my expectations are very much altered and lowered accordingly. :-[

Lol. I was about to, until I saw the last team to beat them in the league was Wigan. Clouded my 'vision' a little. 😛

Surprised to see that a win come Saturday will take us on even points with Spurs.

Bale has the potential to rape Johnson. That's why I'd try Johnson on the wing in this one. It would allow us to move Kuyt to a central role and with them probably playing three in the middle we need him to prevent us being overrun there.

--------------Torres-----------------
---------------Kuyt------------------
Maxi-Poulsen-Meireles-Johnson
Aurelio-Carragher-Skrtel-Kelly

If he moves Meireles back out to the wing, after his performance on Saturday, I will find it extremely annoying.

Lucas in for Poulsen and Cole in for N'Gog should be the only changes

I'd also be tempted to go for aurelio rather than konchesky.

I highly doubt Cole will start. Poulsen was decent against West Ham so I'd rather start him than Lucas who was shit in his last matches.

Same team as against West Ham, although I would replace Konchesky with Kelly. And Poulsen with Lucas, althought I'm meh to either of them starting.

Kuyt to provide cover for Johnson against Bale on the right.

Decent team that. Kuyt will take care of Bale and drag him back into his own half, and how classy was Aurelio when he came on. I hope our superstar Doctor can keep him fit.
