I don't think many would have complained if we'd have said a month ago that on the 1st September we'd be top, without conceding a goal and we'd have added 8 players without having to sell Suarez.

*crosses fingers*

Usually I feel the international break comes at a shit time for us but maybe a couple of weeks off suits us right now, we can look at ourselves at the top of the league for a while and nobody can do a thing about it. Also it gives a few injuries time to clear up and allows some signings to get sorted and settle a little.

Can't believe we're in the position we are and we have Suarez, Moses, Allen, Sakho, Cissokho, Illori and Toure to come into the first team/squad yet.
Brilliant start, and I think not being the poxy eurodisney cup help us a lot.
We've got Swansea, Southampton and Sunderland coming up in the league, and the scum in the cup, so lets hope it just keeps going, I don't see any reason why not.
Onwards and upwards.

Could be. It's interesting watching us build with young players, some of his signings have been hit and miss, but there at least appears to be a style and a direction.

It's a bit odd watching this without European football, that's of course something that we must aspire to get back amongst, but maybe this good start will have us raising our demands and expectations that little bit higher.

We've said all Summer, it's a crucial time with Chelsea, United and City all changing manager, it could be the perfect opportunity to be a bit of a dark horse. No one's really mentioned us having any sort of aspirations, other than trying to progress a little more and get back at least the Europa League. Maybe quietly we think we can go one better.

I was worried in the previous 2 league games at the way we sat back and looked shakey. I know we did it again today but we looked really solid at the back. For all their possession, Utd didn't really get a sniff at goal. Great to be top, would like a few more top notch additions but things are looking good so far.

One of the main criticisms last year was that we looked disorganised without the ball, so it's definitely encouraging to see we might still have that bit of the old "backs to the wall" when we need it.

We look much better defensivly and more organized. It also helps the Ming has been excellent and is a matchwinner.

Our midfield doesnt get overrun anymore and we're defending more as a unit. Everyone knows what to do and the players fight for the shirt.
Henderson was amazing today. He's still running!

So it's the 1st of Sep and I'm lovin' the view

Heh, there is definitely a bit of that going on.

I'm delighted with our start so far but we've been scraping through games and are definitely going to need to improve to keep picking up wins.

With Suarez to come back and a couple new signings to bed in though, I'm hopeful.

Heh. Is it stoke next? Let's just see how we go before we get excited.

I'm just pleased we heaped the pressure on Moyes more than anything else.
