So Hull

It'd be nice to see McLaughlin getting a game but I can't see it happening now. Perhaps in the cup.

Is Toure fit?

----------------------- Ming
Johnson -- Skrtel -- Sakho -- Flannagan
------------ Gerrard --- Henderson
-------- Suarez ---- Alberto ---- Coutinho
--------------------- Sturridge
Fap-o-rama

I dont care who plays, i want three points in this game. If you want to rest anyone's arse better do it against Norwich at home...we will win that surely

Alberto would have surely finished that chance against nevertonains which Allen missed

Who knows.

I'm just cycling through them until I've been disappointed by all!

Might be worth giving Allen another go against Hull actually and see if he can regain some confidence. We need to do something with him this season regardless of whether he stays or goes.

as i always say , this won't be a stroll in the park but there are very few excuses i'll accept for not getting a win .

Johnson -- Toure -- Sakho -- Flannagan

Johnson is a better attacking outlet on the right. Flanno deserves his place over Cisshoko based on Saturday. Tough to drop Lucas after he played well - and I don't expect Rodgers will - but Hendo/Gerrard is better for this game. Moses does well coming in from the LW and it will stretch their defence.

No offence but having Henderson and Gerrard in midfield is like inviting Hull to dominate our midfield.
Henderson just doesn't have the positional sense and discipline to anchor our midfield.
As evident in the game against Everton, our midfield got overrun when Lucas was subbed.
No, Lucas has to play but if he's injured or unavailable play Henderson or Allen.

Contrary to some suggestions, I'd actually want Gerrard playing against these opponents we should be beating. He's going to get more space (hopefully) against the likes of Hull, Norwich and Fulham than against the Gunners or Everton, and you really should want to extend whatever advantage we have over the opponents.

On the other hand, he doesn't seem to work as hard or cope as well against the higher level teams these days, which makes him less of a factor in midfield. Put another way, you could rest him for the big games and we still might not miss him that badly.

I like all 4 of our CB's so am not bothered which 2 play tbh. I've gone with Sakho and Agger because we haven't seen this partnership yet and it's an interesting one; our physically strongest CB paired with our best footballing CB.

......................................Mignolet.................................
Glenjo....................Agger............Sakho...............Flanagan
.......................................Henderson...........................
................Allen..............Gerrard...............Coutinho
..............................Suarez............Sturridge.............

Actually I've just remembered Agger & Sakho are both left footed so maybe not that well suited. Maybe Toure in for Agger.

Trouble is, they're both left footed!

This team but I think we should give Allen the chance to redeem himself here. So Alberto out and Allen in. This is actually where we have the chance to see what he's really made of.

I'd like to see Allen get a run out instead of Henderson in this game, this should be one surely taylor made for him.

I think they both should get the run out and perhaps give Gerrard a rest. Lets see Gerrard as an impact player for this type of game.

Next 3 games should see lots of goals!

For Hull I would go with:

-----------------Mignolet----------------
Johnson----Skrtel--Sakho----Flanno
------------------Hendo-----------------
---------Gerrard--------Allen------------
------------------------------Coutinho--
-------------Studge---Suarez-----------

Hendo as I think we will do a lot more counter attacking in this game, although I think if Johnson is going to be attacking full time down the right, then Lucas might be worth an inclusion to cover his gaps.

Basically the front 3 should get free reign up top.

Which he for some reason didn't. I'm not Cissokho's biggest fan, I'm not even sure if he's good enough to stay, but I really don't see Flanagan as the long term solution either, despite his solid performance at LB.
Enrique is gonna be out for a while so I think I'll go with the more experienced player.

Flanagan is the best short term option of the 2, he proved that on Saturday and deserves to keep the shirt, not to sure what either of them as long term options has anything to do with Saturday.

The experience thing aswell is a bit of a grey area, Flanagan has played more PL football than Cissokho, plus if a player is shit then he is shit regardless of experience.

Lucas was out best midfielder by about 1234689409587777-671-76 gatrillion miles on Saturday, and 75% of you have left him out of your preferred side for this game.

Fucking remarkable.

Different opposition - I think Hull will start very cautiously whilst we will fire out of the blocks as usual, I don't think we need Lucas for this game. I personally would have taken him out of this for this game whatever the result against Everton, bar a Lucas hat-trick. I think Lucas is a Must Have for away games not including relegation fodder (Hull), and Home games against our competitors. Home against mid - lower table, I think we can do without a dedicated DM and away to a few of the bottom of the table clubs.

Rodgers won't see it this way, and I think unfortunately Allen will make way for Studge to get back into the team but I think, like vs Crystal Palace, Hendo as a DM type player will suffice.

Ok. I think that's because we can get Gerrard to hold and allow Allen and Henderson to do the legwork. Its horse for courses and I suspect Hull will be going with a formation of holding what they have from the outset. Particularly given that they lost at home to Palace on Sat.

I see your point though.
