Down the left, got to the through ball first but tried to turn to the side line and brushed off by the opponent who whips in a quick cross and its a goal.

We are struggling in a way i cannot remember in my lifetime, even under souey we had flair players to do stuff occasionally as we were getting stuffed, we are just not even vaguely dangerous at the minute and we are leaking like a sieve.

Well, despite the fact we played really poorly in ther first half (and yet still managed to lead) and the fact we let in yet another late goal (twice to the French and now with the Italians) to lose I was actually encouraged by that game.


Aquilani has good touch and can find a pass. He needs game time though I thought 75 minutes was too long for him tonight and probably counts him out of Arsenal.

Was great to see Torres coming on and he looked sharp and dangerous very quickly.

Gerrard isn't playing well and hasn't for some time but, if he gets Aquilani and Torres with him I think his quality will return.

I actually enjoyed seeing Darby in there, Carra having a rest and loved seeing Pacheco getting some time.

All in all the 2nd half was worth watching and there was an effort for about 20 minutes to play quick, flowing football. Wasn't overly successful but it started and, with a win or two I think we'll see more of it.

The 2nd goal was frustrating as hell though it didn't hurt any where near as much as the Lyon one.

I don't expect to see Aquilani on the weekend but I didn't really expect any points on the weekend either. Hopefully after that we'll get a chance to see if Gerrard, Aquilani, Torres and Mascher playing together can make something happen.
