So to counter the 'Things that piss you off thread' - Here's a different view. Grab those small victories!
@FoxForceFive and other dads out there who I hope might be able to relate to this little episode that happened this morning.
So I am in the supermarket car park (supermarket visits are a shit experience in general I think we have all established) - Anyway I spy (for once) a free space in the 'parents with children' spot. A cushy option as it is close to the shop and allows easy access to remove said baby with the minimum of fuss. I am in the middle of a slick reverse park and all of a sudden I see some bint in an SUV beeping and gesticulating at me like some manic psycho - 'That's for parents with prams!' she bleets! Before driving off in a huff.
Anyway I calmly continue to park up and take out my 6 month old in his baby seat - Plonk him in one of those made for baby seat trollies and carry on with my shop. In and out like a ninja as usual. Anyway while I am paying for stuff the usual banal chit chat occurs with the cashier. I relate to her the little story about what happened in the parking space.
She acts shocked - 'Well maybe she just didn't expect to see a guy with a baby on his own'
'Yes' I said 'That was probably it - I imagine she felt pretty stupid when It turned out I did have a baby and was therefore fully justified in using the parents with children spot'
The cashier chuckles - It was only when I turn around I notice the aforementioned bint standing in the queue right behind me trying everything she could not to be noticed - She probably felt like shit and to be honest I couldn't give a fuck!
