Sounds a lot like Robbie keane, lets sign him too.
Did you mean does not sound like Robbie Keane?

😛

Silva. Because hes not a fucking manc.
If its Tevez v Downing id bite the fucking bullet and take the fawning little wanker, but it isnt its Tevez or Silva. Both are fine players, one is a disgusting tainted Salfordite, the other isnt. Its a fucking simple choice for me, ALWAYS the non manc.

Who gives a fuck, we'll sign neither.

Somone start a 'Downing or Kranjcar' thread for a reality check please.

Kranjcar for me.
He's at least better looking.

I reckon the deal may be nearly done. The only other team in the running was Juve and they have just signed their new 'big name'. Madrid are after either Slimeball or Kaka, so we can rule them out, which only leaves (in Spain) Barca. I don'[t think he'd fit into their current setup, which lets face it is doing rather well. So that leaves English clubs and I reckon we have the best chance, given he's Spanish.

Kranjcar is an excellent player who can play left and behind the striker.

Yes please.

Has zero pace. Not much of an improvement on Albert Riera.
Hmmm, I very much hope you're correct.

Quality player that would improve our first eleven. Yes please.

Silva.

He offers us something we dont have currently.

Tevez offers us another Dirk Kuyt, but uglier, a little more aggressive, & not attuned to our team or Rafa's demands of a "work-horse" player. Add to that his extortionate price & he's just not worth it IMO.

If Kuyt can play next season in the form he's played for us since January a replacement will not be needed.

Tevez has reported today that his agent is negotiating with someone. Also said that he thinks they may have won the cup if he'd have started. Lol the muppet.

any of you feel we can sign both? and would you be happy if tevez and silva are the only arrivals in the summer?
I doubt if we can afford to sign both without selling Xabi - and that's a sacrifice I wouldn't be prepared to make.

There's no chance of those two being our only signings - we need a new RB and possibly a new CB. But hypothetically, then yes, I'd probably be happy. We'd have to hope Darby and Kelly were ready to step up to the team, which might bite us in the arse, but adding those two up front would give us much more depth and creativity. We'd just have to pray that breaking up the Stevie-Nando axis didn't disrupt us as it did last season with Keane.

Tevez, less risk.

We know he can do it in our league.
you could have said that about keane.
technically you could have said that about bent rather than torres (when at AM) based on their goal scoring ratios.

silva could well be another torres rather than another keane.

If reports are to be believed, we are seriously in for Tevez, which sort of goes against my steadfast belief that our no.1 target is Silva.

Perhaps it was Silva, but Rafa has switched to Tevez due to the unexpected opportunity of signing him and / or the price Valencia are demanding?

Not really. Tevez was playing in a world class team, as opposed to Keane, who the team revolved around.

if rather has switched targets it is definately because he feels tevez will fit the system better and will need less time to acclimatise to the country.
pity we can't have both and then pick two from three of tevez kuyt and silva for any given game.

torres definately wasn't playing in a world class team.

I can't imagine we'll be able to afford or accomodate both.
manu can't (or refuse) to play their 4 best attacking talents at the same time. it makes for a strong team and strong bench.

I can't vote for some reason but I'd go for Tevez. I just don't get the fuss with Silva at all, probably because I haven't seen enough of him to be fair. I do think he has huge question marks as to whether he can transfer (his not stunningly impressive) form from Spain to England.
Tevez is not a LW, nor should he ever be.
Exactly. If we're playing 442 - fine, buy him. If we're persisting with this 451/433 thing then I think he'll be wasted/ruined.

I hope United sign Tevez. We know what they're getting with him. A solid, hardworking striker. With talk of them letting him go and instead getting Benzema. Now, that would be VERY concerning.

There aren't many out and out LW players in Europe. Is Silva a proper LW player? Forgive me if I'm talking shit, but to be a true 'wingy winger' (TM Doc_Mac), I think pace is something of a requisite. You know, the sort of thing we see in Ronaldo, Ribery, and (down a notch) Lennon or SWP. If we buy Silva, wouldn't his most natural position be in the area SG and Kuyt occupy?
