Silva or Tevez?

I voted TEvez.

I am not 100% sure Silva will adjust to the premier league - and for all his talent, I think he doesn't score enough. That is probably also a valid complaint against Tevez, but he doesn't start every game while Silva does. Tevez is built for the pL.

I voted Tevez but "this will not happen".

My reasons are the same as LTW (he said, lazily)

You said the same about Torres!!! 😉

Where is aguero on that list of choices? I think he will be the surprise signing!

I haven't really seen much of Silva, but I don't think Tevez is what we need.

Is Silva anything like Iniesta?

Yah, I just don't know if physically he can do it (I never had that issues with TOrres). His goalscoring stats btw:

4 in 19 (08/09)
5 in 34 (07/08)
4 in 36 (06/07)
4 in 34 (05/06) with Vigo

I voted Tevez but both would is the right answer, reading the telegraph article when it talked of the clubs financial difficulties i wasn't sure which club it was referring too mind you..

they have a similar debt to us but at least Valencia have a new stadium 90% finished!

Silva is actually better than many of us think, a cracking little player, mind you so is Tevez.

Yes. BOTH.

I've mentioned his goalscoring stats in the past as well - they're not great - but I do think he has a lot of potential to improve in that area.

As for the question I don't really know.

I was all for getting Tevez before he went Utd, but I just don't like the thought of picking up a player Fergie is seemingly uninterested in... plus he does seem to do the headless chicken act a bit too often. If he could pick up his form and establish himself in a side however, he's proven that he can play in this league and has a lot of talent. Hmmm...

Silva has more of the qualities we're looking - creativity, guile, craft, technique... but he's a big risk as he's an unknown quantity in this league and his size doesn't really fill you with confidence.

Dilemma, dilemma.

just curious as to why (i don't know one way or another, so just interested)

I voted Tevez. You know when we are struggling and need to scrap he will chase down all lost causes and has a knack of scoring important goals.

Silva though easier on the eye, could well be less effective.

For no real reason other than he has lots of ability and with a manager and a team that encourages him to go for goal more, I think he could improve. He probably will be brought in as more of a provider, but Rafa will no doubt push for a good goal return.

tevez is a much better player. silva's goal return borders on disgraceful and his assist ratio is nothing to write home about either.

To fit into the 433 thing - Silva. To fit into a 442 - Tevez.

Silva is ideally suited to the 433 we play and is a tricky, creative flair player that doesn't score a rack load of goals but is a creator. Quite nippy, very tricky.

Tevez, ugly little grafter that will score a good deal of goals in a 442. How he'd fair on the left or right 'wing' position....

And would be more than likely the left hand side and he's right footed - So forget about width from Tevez.

Silva is right-footed too. But I agree he'd be a better fit with the system we've got. And... I don't know, I just have a feeling he could really improve, whereas with Tevez I think WYSIWYG. Silva for me has better vision, a quicker mind, a better understanding of how football works. He might score fewer goals than Tevez, but I think he'd improve our overall team play more.

He'd also be cheaper probably. And he hasn't babbled on about how much he loves Manchester Fucking United and its 'supporters'.

Silva i left footed in my pro evo.

Both good players, but unless we're changing the system, then it's a player who can attack from wide areas, particularly on the left, that we're looking for.

Tevez would be a good player capable of playing in either the Gerrard or Torres role, but I don't see him being as effective on the right or left.

If we're looking for a world class striker to back up Gerrard & Torres and we think Tevez would be happy playing second fiddle to both of themm then I'd happily spend the 20m we spent on Keane on Tevez. He'd be a much better bet, but he is not going to solve the left side issue.

He is ambidextrous.

I voted Tevez because I think he is more of a match winner.
i'll readily admit I haven't seen an awful lot of Silva but Tevez has proved he can hack the physical side of the premier league.

I want to make it perfectly clear that this statement was made under duress.

Tevez for so many reasons.

He's a wonderful striker.

Scores goal out of nothing.

Works so hard for the team.

Is strong on the ball.

Is proven in England.
