I would. I said last year when Citeh were rumoured to be offering 100m for Torres id take it. Nothing ive seen this year is making me change my mind.

i'd have to agree, oncy. we'd never get that much; 100 for both if we're lucky. but that could buy us 4 top quality first teamers ( and the wages would be covered by gerrard and torres being off the wage bill ) and we'd be better off.

I was asked this at the pub earlier on by a City fan and I said no. Well, actually he just asked if I'd sell Gerrard.

I said no. I just don't trust anyone to replace him adequately. We've been starved of good attacking players for far too long for me to view such a move as anything other than disastrous.

I don't think selling Gerrard is a good idea, not just because of his talent but because he's a symbol of the club. If we sell him we send out a message that any one of our players can be taken and we will have lost a part of our identity. He's synomonous with our club around the world. It'd be like Real Madrid selling Raul, or Barcelona selling Puyol, Roma - Totti, Milan - Maldini when he was playing etc.

It wouldn't be a good move.

i'm starting to think that we need to accept our position. we can't keep saying 'we're not a selling club' when there may be no other way to bridge the obvious disparity in quality throughout our squad. how can a skint club afford to keep players like torres and gerrard with the wages they command, and the success they demand. this is are very last chance to sell gerrard for a wedge as well. i would want to sell both, though, not one or the other. it would have to have the pretense of a fresh start.

everton have a much stronger squad for selling lescott despite their wishes.

We could easily keep both, if the man entrusted with purchasing players hadn't bought mostly useless shit over the last two years. We are stuck due to Rafa's failures in the market, and the fact that there's no assurance that any sale would actually go where it needs to, due to the owners.

Can't believe you all want to sell Torres. Jesus - one bad game, a few injuries, and suddenly you lose all faith. He's the most exciting Liverpool player I've EVER seen and he's only 26. No way on earth should we sell him.

Re Gerrard, I tend to agree with whoever said that he's a symbol of the club, but I must admit in pure playing terms he offers much much less than he used to. And his attitude stinks at times.
