I think the fixtures are more kind to us than our rivals.

With that in mind i reckon we'll get 4th spot, just about.

Even if we do get it, big changes need to be made in the summer.

We need Torres firing fit for the rest of the season. Without his movement, we never seem to turn a defence and create anything. With him, anything is possible*.

*4th place, not 3rd or above.

Well we've not long to find out have we ? I hope for fourth but remain pessimistic.

I fear another hamstring pull and having to make-do with Kuyt or god forbid, N'Gog for the rest of the season. That would be the last nail in the coffin.

Liverpool. Reason? Torres.

torres essential for stopping AM slipping into mediocrity left for pastures new...and is essential for stopping LFC slipping into mediocrity

basically the hopes of the team rests of torres' young shoulders, little difference from the situation he faced at AM and that pressure isn't the fight for top honours rather the fight to stave off mediocrity. hopefully we secure 4th and he stays because I'm fearful he will leave if we don't.

Torres stayed at atletico after they got relegated.
[/quote]

great loyalty but they're his boyhood team.

I said that Kaka would not go to Citeh and neither will Fernando Torres.

"Pundits" bang on about having to play Champions' League to keep his international career etc...

Erm, Villa's not and I don't reckon his place in the Spanish national team is in doubt.

City I reckon. I don't think we're good enough as this season has shown and I don't know if it will improve significantly enough.

Gosh, I wish I could be as optimistic as most of you are.
I am in the Brendan camp, we will be lucky to finish 5th.

I di hope I am wrong

regards

This is City's record since beating Arsenal and Chelsea in December:

D 3-3 v Bolton (A)
L 0-3 v Spurs (A)
W 4-3 v Sunderland (H)
W 2-0 v Stoke (H)
W 3-0 v Wolves (A)
W 4-1 v Blackburn (H)
L 0-2 v Everton (A)
W 2-0 v Portsmouth (H)
L 1-2 v Hull (A)
W 2-0 v Bolton (H)
D 1-1 v Stoke (A)
D 0-0 v Liverpool (H)

In other words their only victories have come against relegation fodder or midtable sides, and all but one of those wins have been at home. These are their remaining fixtures:

Chelsea v Man City
Man City v Tottenham
Sunderland v Man City
Fulham v Man City
Man City v Wigan
Burnley v Man City
Man City v Birmingham
Man City v Man Utd
Arsenal v Man City
Man City v Aston Villa
West Ham v Man City

I don't think they'll get more than 18pts from those games. The reality is, for all the money spent on their team, they're just not that good at the moment. They will be soon, probably next season, but this season - if we keep Torres and Gerrard fit - we can definitely beat them to fourth.

Liverpool because we have Torres. We can afford to lose Gerrard also (in reply to an earlier post that suggested we couldn't) in his current form.

I may be in a minority, but my biggest fear is Villa.

Have never won a Prem game in March under O' Neill, I believe.

I would have said City but since the Carling Cup semi they seem to have lost it mentally.

The FA Cup is a realistic target for all the other contenders so i hope that distracts them a little and we can continue to grind out results.

i think we'll just about do it, just because none of the others are at all convincing either, least of all City.

i reckon spurs are the biggest threat, i think they're the best team of the 4 if they get their first XI fit. if lennon and defoe get back on form then i think they'll push us closest.

Lennon has got himself injured again and won't be back for a bit.

No, he strained something shaving gangster patterns into his pubic region.

But would that be funny if Lennon were white? Hmm?
