Skully's right, I saw a photo of him jumping for a header and the ball was miles away, he's clearly crap.

he wasn't even playing in the photos i saw.

He would have been playing if he wasn't injury prone...that crock.

*i know nothing about any football player anymore. I have hardly watched any footy in the last eight months.

Skysports.com look at a possible alternative for Liverpool having lost out on landing Jones

Dann: Is he the man for Liverpool?

The current trend in the transfer market is for young English talent to be sold at premium prices, with transfers involving Jordan Henderson and Phil Jones thought to have cost Liverpool and Manchester United £20million and £16million respectively.

With Liverpool having also broken the British transfer record in January to acquire Andy Carroll for £35million, it's fair to say Kenny Dalglish has set his stall out to add a Home Nations spine to his side.

Not for first time in his career he went head-to-head with Sir Alex Ferguson in pursuit of Jones, but the young Blackburn centre-half opted for Old Trafford over Anfield.

Reports emanating from various Merseyside sources have intimated Birmingham City's Scott Dann has emerged as a viable alternative to Jones, with Dalglish known to be an admirer of the 24-year-old.

Dann is keen to prolong his Premier League career in light of Birmingham's relegation, with the boyhood Liverpool fan thought to be keen to link-up with Dalglish.

Here, in conjunction with Opta, we look at the man Liverpool missed out on and compare him with a player they may turn to as an alternative.

he can head a ball, which is a massive plus for our defence, and he's a massive red so he would play out his skin for us

Fab's you're a massive red, i still wouldn't want you playing for us mate.

Our defence looked much better under Kenny, I'm not convinced we need another CB personally (unless we have a load of dosh and he's a clear improvement on what we have).

think with carra aging and maybe picking up more knocks, skrtel possibly being a liability and agger being agger, i'd like another CB. But i'd prefer one who was a guaranteed starter, not someone who can compete

But Fabio isn't already a premiership footballer. Dann isn't a fan of the street (like some Dream Team episode), he's a decent footballer.

Now i'm not overly keen myself but there will be no doubting Dann's commitment if he comes.

I don't doubt he'd give his all either mate, just that if he's average giving 100% is really going to mean fuck all.

what ever happend to Dream Team? that show was boss
i remember there was a plane crash or something and my sister wrote to the show asking if all the characters she liked could have survived on a raft by eating some slovakian player that played for the team. they never went with that story line, never knew why

ha! oh yeah, im still pissed off that linda block is in corrie, and luis amore rodrrriiiiguez was in one of the resident evil films. i bet we'll sign that goalkeeper that had to be shot by an elite team of swat members

We definitely need another central defender mate, that's been obvious for a long time.

Can't keep relying on(the ageing)Carragher and Skrtel over the course of a season.

Like i said if we've got loads of money to spend AND we can sign an top class CB, i'd be all for it. As it stands i don't think we'd have many issues with Carra, Skrtel, Agger and Kelly to choose from.

His delayed transfer raises some questions.
Do we have someone else in mind?
Cahill?

Might be in the minority but i reckon Dann would be a good signing.

We've lacked a defender who heads the ball for fun since the awesome Sami Hyypia departed. Dann is a beast in the air.

He's actually quite mobile as well, and not bad with the ball at his feet.

I wouldn't be against him coming in.

I know very little of him, but signing a defender from a relegated club doesn't fill me with much confidence.

There must be better out there.

I don't really know much about Dann either, but we signed Henchoz from a relegated Blackburn side.
