You can do it now if you like. I think 1:00pm (UK/Irish time) is kick off time.

Pick your players and tactics before the game on Friday, save them and then log in after 1 on Friday to check your result. Easy.

Then you have to use the same process for your game on Monday.

It seems like there is nothing to do at the start, and it really doesn't require a lot of effort. But as you learn how to play you realise it's slightly more complex and you can spend more time on it if you want.
