Sami Hyypia serves beer to unsuspecting Liverpool fan wearing shirt with his name
When Sami Hyypia noticed that a man sitting near him in a bar was wearing a Liverpool shirt with his name on the back, he decided to introduce himself… by pretending to be a waiter

Liverpool icon Sami Hyypia gave an unsuspecting supporter of his the shock of a lifetime after serving him a beer at a ski resort during a crazy chance encounter.
The former Reds skipper was just minding his own business while on holiday in the town of Kittila in north Finland when he spotted a tourist wearing a Liverpool jersey with his name on the back.
But rather than simply stroll over and introduce himself, Hyypia thought of a far more imaginative way to do it. He pretended to be a waiter and walked over to bring the fan a beer he hadn't even ordered.
At first the supporter - Peter Dybvad - was confused, telling the 'waiter' that there must have been a mistake, before going googly-eyed and doing the mother of all double-takes after realising who was standing next to him.
The entire restaurant - who were quietly made aware of what was going on by Hyypia's entourage - exploded in rapturous applause and according to journalist Rami Lehtinen, who just happened to be sitting at the bar at the time, Peter was completely convinced his fiancé had orchestrated the whole thing, despite her pleading ignorance.
Hyypia spent the next few hours sitting and laughing with Peter and the two settled in to watch Liverpool's 3-1 victory over Benfica in the quarter-final of the Champions League, which all things considered is just about the perfect evening a Hyypia-loving Liverpool supporter could ask for!
Hyypia arrived at Anfield in 1999 as a relative unknown but quickly established himself as one of the Premier League's most reliable centre backs. He was appointed club captain in 2002 - before relinquishing the armband to Steven Gerrard a couple of years later - and the Finland international went on to make over 450 appearances for the club before leaving in 2009.
