Salah.

I wouldn't swap Suarez in his prime for us for Salah.

Salah not getting suspended being the biggest reason why, as both are just incredible.

But I also prefer Salah as a person because he plays the game with a smile on his face & unlike Suarez, he seems like he wants to play for us.

Salah for me, is as good as anything we have seen play for LFC in the Premier League era.

I see no reason why he won't continue this scoring form and elite performances too.

I'm also hoping these African players in Salah, Mane, Keita etc don't have the same lust to play for Real / Barca like the South American & Spanish players did.

Can't wait for next season with Keita and others improving us further, But I think we've got a great chance of CL success this season too, as we're that good... but we're only going to get better, which is mouth watering.

I suspect a few people won't agree with me on the Salah / Suarez thing, but I don't care - Salah I love. Suarez's loved dented due to him forcing a move(s), the suspensions, tapping up Coutinho etc.

Football for me is also about liking the players and Salah is just incredibly likable.

In that case you can only compare after Salah is gone.

If he forces a move will you go back to liking Suarez more?

Suarez is everything I love in a footballer, ability, attitude and desire to win.

The perfect footballer.

If he forces a move, then I'll not have quite the same love for him - no.

But I can judge him upto now and he loves playing here

Suarez is not everything I love as a footballer. Lots of things I didn't like about him.

Much prefer Salah, who has the ability, right attitude, desire to win... plus many more admirable attributes, like playing with a smile on his face, loving being at the club, not bollocking younger players should they make mistakes (like Suarez would to Sterling, Salah encourages Trent for example), not getting suspended etc.

Suarez was a brilliant footballer, but I prefer Salah who is not only an equally good footballer IMO, he's much more likable and loyal (thus far and that's all we have to work off).

Sterling needed that verbal boot up his jaxie on a regular basis at the time. Good though he clearly was, his final pass or shot was garbage far too often.

Suarez literally won games on his own for us. Mo, for all his excellence, isn't at that level yet. If he keeps on the way he's going he might get there, but if I were picking a Liverpool team to save my life tomorrow I'd still pick Suarez over him all day long.

I mean I know we bash Sterling for leaving. But I didn't like some of the treatment Suarez gave to him. Constant bollocking rather than encouraging. Being selfish not passing to him when Sterling is in a better position to score.

I can't agree with your last paragraph. Salah has won us games on his own... ask Harry Maguire. His goal vs Everton would have won us the game on his own, had the ref not given that weak penalty. Salah isn't just finishing chances, he is creating his own chances, like Suarez did plenty of times.

Most of us don't bash Sterling for leaving. We bash him, and rightly, for the toerag way he behaved in order to force the move through. BTW at that time his finishing was still dire for the most part. Suarez was 100% right not to rely on him even when he was in apparently better positions, many of which he wasted.

Salah is certainly creating chances on his own, but - as I suggest your own post demonstrates - the number of times they've been out-and-out game-winning chances is not high. Salah's pace and strength are extraordinary but he doesn't (yet) have Suarez' ability to pick the lock when a massed defence lines up in front of us.

He's 31 now, and I think he's lost that turn of pace he had. He wasn't as impressive against Chelsea the other week, and from what I can gather that's not an isolated performance. He's still great, but he's past his best. Happy with Mo for the mo.

Fair comment, and (having been sceptical initially) I'm a total Salah convert now, but for a one-off game tomorrow I'd still pick Suarez with his ferocious will to win.

And look... Good old Luis, getting himself in the shit again last night.

La Liga’s president Javier Tebas had a few choice words for Barcelona’s Luis Suarez this week. Suarez was seen in Barcelona’s 6-1 win over Girona seemingly trying to get his fifth yellow of the season. This would in turn get his ban over with before Barcelona’s key match with Atletico Madrid.
The suspension would take place against Las Palmas which would be much better for Barcelona obviously. Tebas was not a fan of the actions and made it clear that he will seek a ban for Suarez.

“He deserves a ban for trying to get his fifth yellow card,” the LaLiga chief said. “I’m going to work hard to ensure that football is free of tricks and cheating.”

How all of this plays out will be fascinating. The actions didn’t end up working out for Suarez and it would be somewhat strange for a punishment to take place regarding a foul that never resulted in a card.

I dunno what he did... but why didn't he just boot the ball away when he'd missed or something?

Suarez remains the best player we've ever had, and Mo is pretty wasteful, which sounds a stupid thing to say about someone with that many goals... I'd take both. I wish we had both.

Well we'll never have to put up with any bullshit bans if Salah ever gets into any trouble, there are at least a half dozen Islamophobia cards to play before the FA can even consider touching him.

Salah seems to be the least likely player to get into any sort of trouble, on or off the pitch.

He tried a lot. Holding back players, wasting time, unprovoked pushing, tackle from behind..... but no biting!!

This is what I'm on about... no guarantees. Just boot the ball into row Z and act like it was coz you were pissed off. No one gets hurt, no one can prove you meant it. What a fucking dipshit.

The ref knew what he was up to and delibaretaly ignored his pleas for a booking. So I assume he would got away with booting the ball away too 😀

Liked... for the love exuding from the post. It's always good to see players smiling and to see good things happening for good people.
