Take the money I say, like its been said, there is no else like him on that right. So sell him get the cash, play Gakpo on right, Nunez up front in middle and diaz/jotta on left. Also sign a young one plus Bowen from West Ham.

if salah is sold, we still have enough fire power to finish teams but it allows us to buy CBs and Defenders. I think FSG are using the administration of the construction firm to say to Klopp that money has to divested, and any more purchases has to be made from sales.
I would rather we switch to a 4-4-2 or even 4-5-1 which will leave our right-side less exposed
Behave. The pending administration in no shape or form affects transfer budgets.

Imagine if Caicedo had said to yes, would have been interesting to see how we would have come up with that money…

That's the problem, there's no one in world football like him. So it's either hope our current options are good enough to make up for his departure, whilst also improving our squad, or spend heavily on a sub-par replacement

Across Mac, Szob, Jones, Gakpo, Diaz, Jota and of course Nunez; i think we could make up for his loss

Or we don't. TBH at this point i'm past caring.

Yup I couldn't give a flyin if he goes. We ain't winning shit this season anyway.

We *must* have the money.
The question is can we spend it on anyone but Caicedo - maybe it's just not allowed based on FSG's rule book.

I think a good outcome might be having a deal in principle, so we know he's off in a year, get one last season out of him, but ample time to prepare for it. Him going in the next few weeks would be a disaster.

I could accept him leaving in the Winter window as long we were prepared and ready for it

I’d say the positives on the balance sheet are; Klopp, promoting Edwards, the Couthino money spend and the contract extensions for our “Big 3”.

The lack of investment since winning the CL being the massive downside

Another positive must be the stadium expansion. Apparently we're going to have the third most match day revenue once it is complete.

All done without the debt that Spurs needed to finance their stadium

Is there a 'level' we lose our resolve? I don't think it makes any sense to sell now if we don't have 2-3 players to sign asap ...

I think the club knows that we can get that or more next summer and we might even start a bidding war between the Saudi clubs

I wonder how this works, the money all seems to come from the same pot. Even the ‘non-PIF’ clubs like the one which signed Hendo seemed to be drawing money from the same source via application. Maybe they’re all given a budget to work to and whoever decides to commit the most to Salah wins but it’s a weird situation.

You've got a point, but maybe it'll create a "we need him more" situation between them

Yeah the league buys the player and then leases them to the club.

For 'league' read 'mister bone saw'

if that’s how it works then i don’t see any chance of bidding unfortunately but the league will still be absolutely moist at the prospect of landing him

up to us to negotiate a good deal
