Currently Salah is letting us decide, which is still decent compared the way some other players have behaved with such offer. However, at what point does he start pushing for it himself?

Way some posters are keen to take the money on here without a replacement, it’s almost like 6CM posters are going to recieve a share of the fee…

Player wants to leave for money - mercenary
Club wants to cash in on star player (who broke tonnes of records) before his valuation decreases - ???

If this was Gerrard, would we want him to retire with us or sell him for astronomical fee? I'm not saying we shouldn't take silly money for him but somehow, he really does seem underappreciated despite the consistent contributions seasons after seasons.

Look don't worry - we will be fine without him. Despite my negative behaviour on here at times, and being an FSG Out and now a Klopp Out person, I can tell you - that this club always has another hero who will take Salah's place. We are not a club that just fades away when we lose a star player, a new star always rises, and just look at the long list of world class goal-scorer's we have had in our history. Honestly don't worry, consider that assist from Salah to Nunez as passing the baton to the man in waiting. It's poetic and just.

They will come back with more or less the same deal at the end of this season anyway. They are only interested in making a statement, not money.
We can have MO for this season. It's up to the club to find someone to replace him at the end of the season, which seems to be a tall order these days.
How do you know that? Our owners are tight, an offer like this won't come again

Are you really Klopp out? A manager whose worst position has been 5th. A Klopp has his set of problems, most notably hogging players until the contract finishes but he is the best manager we've had since Paisley

If we get 300m what stops the Saudi's out spunking whoever we go to spunk money on?

There is no way FSG reject £200m. And they'd be mental if they did.

I think it would be interesting to take the deal with a loan back until January - similar to Naby l, but only half the season. Both teams and Salah get clarity, we get some time, Salah will work his socks off and want to leave in a positive way, and Saudi can start marketing their success.

Also, I am not convinced we need a replacement of similar profile, if at all. We replaced are best offensive player Coutinho with who? We have the talent to get the goals and Szobo plays further forward sometimes.

The player must be willing to leave. No way will they offer this much without having sounded out the player.

Not necessarily..(from July)

https://www.forbes.com/sites/hyunso...h-saudi-club-offering-11-billion-report-says/

On Monday, PSG permitted the Saudi club to negotiate with Mbappé upon receiving a $332 million (€300 million) transfer fee from Al Hilal, amid a contract standoff with the star striker, according to multiple reports.

Delegation officials from Al Hilal had hoped to meet with Mbappé while they were in Paris to finalize the signing of Brazil striker Malcom from Zenit St Petersburg, but were rejected as the 24-year-old has never considered a transfer to Saudi as an option, according to L'Equipe.

PSG has not officially confirmed Mbappé rejecting the billion-dollar deal, yet are convinced he has already agreed to sign Real Madrid in 2024 as a free agent, which he came close to signing to last summer before extending his contract with the French club.

The $332 million (€300 million) transfer deal offered to Mbappé, if signed, could have smashed the current world transfer record of $263 million (€222 million) the French club set themselves for Neymar's move from Barcelona in 2017.
Al Hilal failed to sign Lionel Messi earlier this year, as the legendary Argentine footballer chose Major League Soccer's Inter Miami over the Saudi League in July.

If the current record is €222m (£190M) then that’s our baseline.

I choose to believe that we're working on stunning deal to sell Salah for a record fee and buy M'Bappe in a move that will win all transfer deadline days from now to the end of days..

I would wager they will offer something similar next year or in January. We're in a strong position and they'll be desperate for him and likely impatient.

If Salah wants to leave the club would be wise to agree a fee with them for next year and spend the next twelve months getting prepared. If he doesn't then we plough on as normal. Salah has plenty of years left playing actual football and has already denied links to them this summer, so we shouldn't take it as gospel he's even considering it as this stage of this career.

I'd be all for 200m. We're 100% going to lose him at the end of next season when his contract's up. Might as well get that money now, suffer his loss, but be equipped to revamp the whole team over the next two windows.
