That was pretty much my point. I'm just as guilty as others, but maybe we're being quick to crucify him. We should be supporting him, at least until we know all the facts.
Hence why I posted that picture.

Why do they test a second sample? Surely whats in his piss today is irrelevant to what was in his piss 3 weeks ago? Or do they take two on the day?
They take two, in case one gets contaminated.

Liverpool defender Mamadou Sakho will plead mitigating factors to UEFA as he battles to avoid a long suspension for failing a drugs test.
The ECHO understands that the France international has not requested for the governing body to test the B sample he gave in the wake of the Reds' Europa League clash with Manchester United at Old Trafford last month.
Sakho learned last Friday that he had tested positive for use of a 'fat burner' following the last 16 second leg tie on March 17.
UEFA's investigation is ongoing and a doping charge is likely to follow now that Sakho hasn't requested for the B sample to be rested.
Liverpool FC are remaining tight-lipped on the issue but the centre-back won't travel with Jurgen Klopp's squad to Spain on Wednesday ahead of Thursday night's Europa League semi-final first leg with Villarreal.

The Reds won't pass any comment on the matter until the issue has been resolved between UEFA and Sakho.
The club and the player have jointly agreed that Sakho won't be considered for selection while the process is ongoing.
The £18million defender could be banned for up to two years but with mitigation that could be reduced to as low as six months.

Without doubt it's 100% why we've banned him now, if it's 6 months, 2 - 3 of those will be the summer (if UEFA accept our suspension as the start date), otherwise if the verdict drags until next season, he could end up missing most of next season. Lets hope they do.
Id be surprised if he got more than 6 months given the type of substance and other circumstances. Would be different if it was anabolic steroids or EPO.

I wouldn't sell him now - value will be low. I would only be looking to bring in another CB if it was clear that they were going to be a massive upgrade. Buying for 10m+ another CB of similar caliber is just stupid.
I think the value will depend on how long his suspension will be.
Bans haven't affected the careers or saleable value of any other players once the ban is over. No one even mentions Rio Ferdinand's 8 month ban or Kolo's now for that matter. He can do his time, then come back.
Yeah, there's no way we'll sell him if it's a 6-12 months. We'll just wait it out and see if we want to keep him when he's back. If it's multiple years, we may just cancel his contract.
Yep, if it's relatively short we'll keep hold. If he comes back determined he's career may not be over, likewise we could sell once the ban is over. If the ban is lengthy, then I could see us terminating his contract.

It's like a leg break. Players do come back from them. For better or for worse.
No one's going to buy him while he's suspended. I don't think we will do that Mutu thing to him. So effectively he should be out on a no pay absence for however long it will be and come back after.
We are stuck with him regardless.
Unlike Rio, Sakho's 26, so even without the minor matter using fat-burners, he's resale value would be fairly low. IIRC Chelsea sacked Adrian Mutu for drug related offense. What options does the club have if Sakho gets a ban? Dock his wages? Terminate the contract? Maintain status quo, minus playing time?
Mutu was hoovering lines of coke wasn't he. Surely there is a difference. There is to me anyway.
