Aspas. Bellamy.

Dybala. Pastore. Aguero. Suarez.

Not trying to be a smartarse but notice the difference ?

None of them live up to the comparison??

TBF I think Dybala is a good prospect. I've seen very little of him but what I've seen has looked good and some respected judges view him highly.

I'd still take Lacazette - he just looks like he'd suit our style IMO.

Ings is meh.
Ings could very well be Meh (I don't think he is though) but that's why I mentioned him at first when he was available for £1m (before he broke into the Burnley team) and now again that he's available for about £3m; it's well worth the risk to find out whether or not he's meh. Spending £20m+ on Berahino would be daft when Ings is available for a fraction of that (and I believe Ings is more likely to score goals for us than Berahino anyway).

Ings has scored 5 goals and 3 assists in 17 matches so far for Burnley but is playing in front of a Championship-level midfield. The Burnley midfield is awful and lacks pace, guile and creativity which leads me to believe that Ings COULD be prolific with the likes of Coutinho, Lallana, Sterling etc behind him.

FFS Brodgers for £3m ye can't go wrong.

I'm always a bit wary of the "For £X mill you can't go wrong" argument, especially after hearing it when the Balotelli deal was being discussed. Seems to me that, if we buy whoever and they turn out not to be good enough or not suited here, we've gone wrong however little we paid for them.

That said, various people (including you) whose opinion I respect seem to rate Ings. If we are going to take a chance, I'd sooner do so for £3 mill.than for seven or eight times as much.

Anyone else notice Berahino's total lack of even a smile when he scores those three goals the other day. I know they were playing a lowly team, but I've rarely seen anyone look so pissed off at scoring.

His heads been turned by Interest from us and spurs.

Also was supposed to be getting a new contract which hasn't happened.

Don't really understand why both those things would worry him. If he wants to leave, why would he be bothered about a new contract from the Baggies one way or the other?

Either way this kind of behaviour doesn't seem very professional to me. There have also been previous reports of an attitude problem with him. If we *are* interested, we need to look at these things as well as his playing ability.

Berahino is the closest player to Sturridge there is in the prem.
Quick feet, good shot, pace, dribbling.
I'd take him for the right price. Under £20 mill.

I'd take him for 10-15m.

Although ideally I want a potential next worldie (Aguero/Suarez type).. whether that's the Argie kid at Villarreal or Palermo.

To replace that wank Italian, no not Balotelli.
He could be our 3rd choice striker or an option on the wing.

Yes. Agreed.

To win a title, you either need an excellent balanced squad of players (Chelsea/City), or just to have some terrific forwards (United). If we could get Origi, Sturridge, Berahinho and Balotelli all on the books and playing to their potential, I think we could surprise a few people. Release Lambert and Borini. They're not very good footballers.

Thinking about it, I actually don't feel Beharinho is that far away, in terms of ability, from Sterling. Finishing-wise he's about 1000 times better. With good coaching, I think he'd be a bit like Raheem; very effective but not going to win us a title on his own. We need a few on them, so I guess i'd advocate this signed for a reasonable fee.

I see comparisons to Sterling and Sturridge in the last page. If he's of that calibre we should be more than happy to pay 20M because he'll prove worth it. Is he though?

Sterling, for example, has fantastic technique and a great footballing brain to complement his natural athleticism. Can the same be said of Berahino?

Haven't seen a lot of him, but he has impressed me when I've seen him and he does look like he would fit into the club. Wouldn't be too disappointed if we offered £15M, especially if we were able to recop £20M for Borini and Ballotelli. That's a big step back in the right direction.

I saw him play a couple of times during his good run of form and thought he's quite comparable to Sturridge. Strong, fast and technically solid, always fighting for the ball. But I didn't see him during his barren run of form; I wonder if he still looks as good. Any player looks good when they are on form.

Definitely not.

Hmmm, strange thread.

Can only assume a lot of you haven't seen him play. This kid's quality. Two good feet, pacy, scores goals. He's going to be a star.

I agree with you.
He's quality and can be comparable to the likes of Sturridge and Sterling in terms of talent and potential.
If he's coached well he can get to those levels.

Why can't we raise our own young striker rather than pay west brom £24 million after a good season.

I don't watch much non-LFC Premier League footie so am not gonna judge him. He had a couple of loan deals in the lower leagues a few seasons ago and was quite successful but I didn't get to see him. If Ryan rates him then that'll do for me.

If we could sell Balotelli, Lambert & Borini for £24m approx and buy Berahino & Ings for a similar amount I'd be confident of a top 4 finish.

Unfortunately the fact that Ings is not being linked with anyone would suggest that he's gonna stay with Burnley until the summer.

A front 4 option from Berahino, Sturridge, Ings and Origi next season will make us forget our striker woes from this season soon enough.

Not sure if I'm quiffing, but on the previous page you've said he reminds you of Pongolle, Ryan???

This kid has the all the attributes to be a star though is an arrogant twit which could be his undoing.

That said, similar things were said about sturridge when at city....

Hope we sign him
