Has to be nonsense, surely we'd put in the extra 10 or so for Benteke or someone proven
 
A good player, but no way should we spend that kind of money on him. Sell Borini and Balotelli (if its possible) and bring in Berahino for 10 million.

Strikers we would have

Sturridge (if he is ever fit)
Sterling
Berahino
Lambert
 
£24 million? Hasn't scored in his last 11 outings for the Albion, last goal being scored in end-Oct.

Thats not a great stat.. certainly not worth 24 million..

Apologies for mentioning Ings again BUT he is available for about £3m because his contract is almost up. Given the choice I'd take Ings over Berahino if they cost the same amount, the fact that Ings is available for 1/6th of the quoted price above would IMO make signing Berahino a crazy move.

3 million for Ings on low wages would make a lot of sense. He seems to have started to find a bit of form and we'd always make our money back if it doesn't work out. It'll be the summer before we get Origi, Balotelli has been muck, we know we can't rely on Sturridge's fitness and I doubt the owners will want to give BR 20 million to spend on potential again. We need an alternative to Lambert or shoe-horning Sterling into that position.
 
I didn't see too much of them, but from what I've seen Berahino is a lot better than Ings. Whether he is worth 24M is another matter – but don't forget it's just a rumor.
