As a write off by Reading, he was fucked. Instead he worked at it, got better and scraped into the Premiership. Already doomed, he got them playing good football against footballing sides and finished mid-table. I know alot of managers like that have over achieved, but anyway, I agree re Kenny, he deserved another season, or at least a change in role, but this guy can only have got the job because they recognised the hunger to begin something new, and not have people hanging overhead reminding us of what Shanks did.

Y1 has a point. We will have some idea by December. If it's tits up, he'll be given the AVB, but with a new structure around him, technical director , DOF could firing a manager won't be as a big a deal, and a new one could fit in more easily. I think this is what the Americans want. I am guessing.

Good points Buddha, but I don't think Mancini, Pardew, Harry, and Pep are decent rebuttals for differing reasons. and Mouriniho was a CL winner before he went to Chelsea.Using Porto's hiring him isn't a good comparison as it's a smaller club and smaller clubs take these risks all the time. I would not be too harsh on Kenny last season. We played some really decent games where we lost just because the ball would not go in, eg against Arsenal at home.

In all possibility and probability I hope not. What if that probability, small it may be, of facing relegation happened and we are bottom 3 in December? What next?
