Mate, admit it, you're itching to start another manager out thread before pre-season starts. I've got to admire your consistency.

Honestly I know better. That was a once off. Never again. Had RM become manager I would have just left. Rodgers could work, but his win ratio is a bit alarming, and I think he who should not be named might have had us back in the CL next season. Anyway, back to reality, let's see how it goes - but Hodgson was a once off, never to be repeated!

In all possibility and probability I hope not. What if that probability, small it may be, of facing relegation happened and we are bottom 3 in December? What next? Let him take us down and come back up again in two years time? Will the owners like that? What about fans? Swearing at me will not take away that possibility. Unless you are never wrong and most likely you think you are never wrong.

In 50 years we have not even once been close to relegation. Why are you talking about it?

Under Roy we were close enough. But hey Brendan is not Roy so there is no possibility. So end of discussion eh?

Your avoiding the point.

We were down amongst the bottom rung of teams in December and only for the fact we fired our manager there was very little to suggest we were going to get out of the mess we were in.
Yet in this thread you claim that only giving a manager 6 months is crazy. If we had given Roy that length of time there is a real chance we could have been in a relegation battle.
And likewise if things are going badly for Rodgers by xmas using the 'we will never get relegated' line is just plain wrong.

There is a first time for everything and I'm sure Leeds fans thought they'd never go down.

I am having a conversation with the Dreamy and Y1 about the serious plausibility of relegation.

I just typed that line above cos the whole thing is blowing my mind so I wanted to see if it's equally as mental when typed out.

It is.

Lest I also remind you Dreamy that you were fucking insistent that Woy would have us "back in the top 4 by December" too back in the day.

What the utter fuck would you know.

Its a massive difference between relegation form and a relegation battle. Under Woy and Kennys last 5 months we showed relegation form, but the other half of the season were far from that which resulted in 7th and 8th finishes.

If someone actually is relegated or battling it in january its a first for me....

Why are people finding it so hard to accept Roy was a complete embarrassment. He was completely lacklustre in everyday, it wasn't a case of not being given enough time, he should never have had the job. He was never wanted by FSG, he was bought in by a bunch of clueless cunts with the task of steadying the ship and ironically did the opposite. Kenny was given time he deserved and Rodgers should have at least a year, but the difference here is they re both appointments that were made with some sense of long term vision, not an appointment designed to steady a ship whilst it was being whored to the most eager punter.

From the independent
"his Swansea dispatched some 2,000 more passes than Liverpool over the course of last season."

I hate how these anorakish points have now become so prominent. No wonder they were so enamoured with Comolli at the start.

Is there really an agreement that we can't buy Swansea players for a year?

You do know I predicted this as well don't you?

There is mate, according to Swansea chairman Huw Jenkins at least.

Can I just say that this Rodgers chap has won me over already.

Swansea played some attractive football, he's clever (read his interview if you doubt that), likes attacking-minded football, he seems strong in mind and charachter - something that'll come in handy as a Liverpool manager at one stage or another - and he seems like he's really caring about this project. His remarkable comments about Kenny and the club as a whole reveals this.

And he's got an aura about him that I like, as well as the crooked nose.

I am member of the Rodgers fan club already.

Give over, you only like him because he's close friends with a talented Scandinavian player.

Can I just say that Gylfi has been likened to Eriksen and vice versa despite having slightly different key-attributes.

Rodgers know the Eriksen. He wants him. And I'm not talking about the one from How I Met Your Mother though he's funny.

If Brendan Rodgers got us Eriksen I'd join you in complete euphoria.
