Rodgers wants a bit of Fanni

Brendan Rodgers is looking to bring Rod Fanni to Anfield on a free transfer.

The 33-year-old Marseille defender is out of contract at the end of the season, and it is understood the Ligue 1 outfit have no plans to extend his stay at Stade Velodrome.

And the Guardian are suggesting the Reds are ready to swoop and bring the France international to the Premier League, where he could replace Kolo Toure, whose two-year contract is also close to expiry.

Fanni has made 24 appearances for Marseille this season, scoring once.
