Rodgers Rules Out United Job

Brendan Rodgers believes he will never be Manchester United manager – because he managed Liverpool.

The Northern Irishman was sacked by Liverpool in October after three trophyless seasons; he lost all three meetings with under-fire United manager Louis van Gaal.

“When you manage Liverpool you know the Manchester United job is gone,” admitted Rodgers on Talksport

He was asked whether he was interested in the job and he laughed and said no. What the hell was he meant to say: 'No comment?' Once you're asked people will always twist the reply to make a lazy joke about it.
Haha! I was thinking that. Some bloody people! It will be on back page of the Star tomorrow. That's pretty much the level of shitness this story has...

A Tottenham-supporting friend of mine has this theory that Spurs will be in for him if the Chavs lure Pochettino away in the summer.

The correct answer would have been "well as I've clearly demonstrated I'm a mid table manager so I'd have been perfect for the role. There were one or two other wee problems of course in that all the players are shagging the fit junior staff and the whole Liverpool / Man U thing but if Nixon could be the President that went to China and Rafa could manage Chelsea then I reckon i could have been the one to bring harmony to the M62. But I didn't fancy stroking wee Wayne's face if I'm honest and that's why I turned it down."

If Utd dont go for Mourinho, I can see them going for either Blanc or Pochettino this summer. Both will probably do quite well, sadly.

He can say anything he wants but at this point there's no way on hell he's getting that job. Everyone knows it, the reporter baited him.

Exactly this. Christ there are some fucking dicks on here who one minute deride the media and its stupidity, and then in the next breath lap up some myopic partial regurgitation of a very light-hearted discussion (its Talksport ffs).

It basically went:

Alan Brazil (slurring as normal) "So Man Uniiiiited Brendan, well then, oof, well then, eh, Van Gaaaaarrl is under a bit of pressure, people asking, you know, well its only fair you know, with the results, they're asking....soooo hahaha we've got people messaging in arrrskin if you fancy a trip up the easssst lancs road, don't suppose you fancy the job, eh, hahahahaha!"

Rodgers: "In all fairness boys i think once youve taken the Liverpool job youve ruled yourself out of managing Manchester United. To be fair to Louis Van Gaal hes a very successful...." yadda yadda yadda

On behalf of everyone else in this thread I'd like to thank Macca and Grjt for teaching us how interviews and the media work.

Yeah but look at some of the replies in this thread on Rodgers answering a generic question? I think macca and grit were just leveling the playing field.

Lol - him and Moyes. Ha!

Such a bullshit artist. Slimeball.

Why do you bother with this negative shit Sean? Serious question. The only time you respond to anything is to spit out venom against Rodgers (with no foundation other than bias bordering irrational hatred), Arsenal or Spurs. I don't get it. For someone who's banged on previously about the traditional ethos of the club and its fans, it's comically hypocritical the way you talk about anyone who isn't a club legend, or Rafa.

Got it Rosco. Understanding that youve become the 6CM resident click-bait specialist explains the dramatic drop off in the quality of your posts and seeming basic football knowledge, which i had attributed to some kind of stroke or personal issue. This context is helpful.

It's great the way posters who offer fuckall to the forum get their shite offerings overlooked continuously, while regular good contributors get pointless stick.

I thought the thread was just a bit of a cheap joke at Rodgers expense, nothing malicious. Ah well.

That's patently untrue. I post about lots of things. Often I post positive things. Whatever. You're opinion of me is of little consequence. We're all entitled to our opinions.

As far as Rodgers goes, it's not based on irrational hatred. It's based on friends in the media who have had regular dealings with him and know more than you do about his conduct in the job. It's also based on good mates in the city who are massive reds and know him to be a sleazy, preening gobshite who has his paws all over any young women he can get his hands on. It's also based on him being a poor manager who is full of politician's tricks and hubris. A deeply unlikeable man.

I'm also not sure why any fellow red would question my hatred of Arsenal, Everton, Man United, Spurs or anyone else. That's what they're there for.
