Btw, Molde win 4-1 on aggregate against Heerenveen, so Assaidi is eligible to be registered for Europa League Group stages.

I love his ability to carry the ball into advanced positions for us. He will be great on the counter for us and also to relieve our defense by taking the ball into advanced position in the oppositions half. Yossi was great at this too.

He looks a bargain and should start the weekend.

I like the fact he's not a one-trick pony - he's not just beating his man on the outside, but knows when to lay on a pass and when to take the ball and cut inwards to look for a shot or set someone up. Robinson also deserves a lot of credit for making Assaidi's job easier by making himself available to receive passes, or by making good overlapping runs in support.

Certainly against WBA he looked very composed and confident and it's notable that later in the game WBA doubled up on him. I'd say he'd earned another chance, he looks the creative type we've been missing for a very long time.

They did, but he also got the assist late on, so he still had it in him to get free of a marker and make an intelligent run that mattered.

Rurik/Dee - I'm not sure whether that's a joke, but anyone who saw the game would tell you he was more than a 'safe' merchant and looked to have alot more in his locker than Riera, he constantly looked to go at people, take them on AND get beyond the fullback with pace. He consistently put dangerous balls in too.

It was refreshing last night watching the deliveries from him and Sahin (from setpieces).

These are jokes right?
Poor ones if they are. Sahin got the goals and played well but the clear stand out player was Assaidi - He absolutely owned their right back. Set up the second goal and generally caused all kinds of problems. He looks a little raw maybe but he's young and new to the set up. We have a great player on the books who will only get better.

Assaidi or Al-Saidi as it should be spelled, did really well last night.
I've wanted us to sign creative dribblers for the past three years.
Now suddenly we have Suso, Assaidi, Sterling and Suarez.
It's actually fun to watch us play nowadays even though the results haven't been that great.

Well, it's a half-joke. It did jump out at me, watching this video, how many back-passes he's made. Not saying it's a bad thing - he generally made good decisions when to run at their RB and when to stop and just keep possession.

Either way you look at it, whether he is a world beater or not, he looks a useful pacy wide player a position we need more strength in, and he cost fuck all compared to Downing.

All round result.

Very pleased even during a shit run of results that we are not hiding and we are staying positive.

Assaidi Suarez Sterling, with Gerrard, Allen and Sahin looks a interesting attacking unit with pace, trickery and quality in the final third.

I hope to God he gets the nod on saturday, he earned it.

I loved Riera. I thought he was great.

In his one full season we almost won the league. Sadly people like Brendan savaged him because he wasnt blindingly quick.
He probably gave the ball away about thrice all season.
