See this is the problem Ryan, people are missing the big fucking point, I had a go about moaning fuckers, but I've constantly said that I wouldn't aim that at Skully, it was pretty obvious he was taking the piss, and it was funny. There's a difference between that and the inane trigger happy ramblings of Hmmmmm, Modo and a few others (and I do like Modo, but he doesn't half go overboard), that's what I personally was having a go at a few weeks ago, it's unnecessary. YES everyone is entitled to an opinion but it doesn't need ramming down peoples throats in every thread as it was quite often last season and a couple of weeks back when apparently, we were the only team in the World not signing 10 new players.

I know we're all guilty of it on certain subjects, myself and your good self included, but most of us are capable of having a go when necessary and praising when it's deserved, and of contributing well thought out posts too. Some people just moan and rant for the sake of it, at a lack of action (where's the likes of Hmmmm now? I'm sure he'll be around if it goes tits up today) or whatever, it's boring. If they did it with an ounce of irony or good humour then I wouldn't give a shit, but they don't. Skully's a good lad and he makes me laugh, someone's obviously taken what he did the wrong way, I hope he and Oncy both come back, but there's good reason why people have got the hump with some of the posts on here, Skully and Oncy probably bore the brunt of that when there's a few proper dickheads on the forum who should have been put in their place ages ago.

If Hmmmm bothers you so much (or any other poster for that matter), then ignore him. Either by your own volition or failing that with the ignore feature. It's what it was designed for.

Why should I be arsed Del? I'm not singling out him, though he's one of the main antagonists, it's more than a few posters cluttering up threads with the same shit, easier said when you're reading through stuff and one of his predictable one liners results in a few pages of stick. Again, this isn't about Skully, I know how to take him, he's having a grin. Others aren't.

Like I said, people are missing the point, I come here because it is varied with it's views and it is constructively critical, that's fine, it's what I enjoy reading.

Reading "I'm glad the cunts gone" about Kenny repeatedly isn't. I don't know how much I've got to spell it out, yeah I can ignore them, wouldn't it be easier for them to be put in their place if they're offering fuck all? I get what Keni is saying, even if it is typically cynical ("the wants of only one side are being catered for". Really? So people actually want to read how we're amateurs halfway through June for not signing anyone?), but we're not talking about constructive, polarised views, we're talking about idiots contributing nothing other than cluttering up threads.

And if it's supposedly a forum that should cater for everyone, shouldn't that thereby earn us the right to take offense to the odd cretin that gets involved. Or are we only catering for one side after all?

£2.5m for a decent looking winger? This simply cannot be true, because I and many others were told such a player just doesn't exist, when we had the temerity to complain about the club spending £18m on Stewart Downing last summer.

I like all 3 of the signings so far. That doesn't mean they might not fail, but at least the principles behind the signings are sound, and that's really all you can ask for. Young, talented, players who aren't obviously overhyped and who don't have dodgy fitness records. Stick to basics like that and I think you'll get more right than wrong. IMO it was the obvious riskiness of our recent fuckups that made them so annoying: Keane, Aquilani, Cole, Downing, Carroll. All either ludicrously overpriced, too old, injury prone, or a combination of the 3.

Yeah. I think there's an element of the unknown though, which we have to be careful about, the problem last season was that we knew what we were getting, this year we've spent relatively modestly and two of players most of us don't know that much about. That said, those players you listed were all heftily overpriced, we knew their relative worth too and knew we were paying over the odds, which influenced our expectations.

This, Borini and co, kind of harks back to how things where up until a good few years back, picking up potential and hoping for the best, if it pays off it's a great feeling. I'm liking how fresh this all feels, at the moment anyway.

Rodgers is really impressing everyone ain't he?

He impresses me. They way he carries himself with humility, honour and dignity is great. His focus on working hard, fighting for your life to win, and running down every ball, it's refreshing. He knows he has to prove himself, and that can only be done by turning this team into a winning one.

Whilst he has it all still to prove with the team, he's shown glimpses of real promise so far. In the type of players he's targeting, the way he acts, the way he expects his players to act and his vision for the future; it's all mightly impressive. I've not been this excited going into a season for quite a while.

It'll be interesting to see him with Luis, they look like they could give a few defenders a torrid time.
I've been crying out for an additional technical player since Suarez joined. So I'm noticeably chuffed with this signing.
The last time we had more than two dribblers in the team was arguably during Evans/Souness time here (Barnes and Macca).

Barnes had stopped dribbling by then 🙂

I admit I was wholly unimpressed with this appointment. I didn't think he had the profile or experience to do a job as big as this one. He has a lot to prove. What I do like about him is his honesty, the way he handles the media, his enthusiasm and his football philosophy.

More importantly, I like the fact that he has a system and its about buying players who fit the system rather than the scattergun approach we have adopted over the last 20 years. It's not about big money superstars but about players who fit the system. The team is the star, thats the Liverpool way, the way that brought us League titles.

I think we're gonna surprise a lot of people this season

Last time we spent 2M on a winger we got Mark Kennedy.

Kinda takes the pressure off ole Osama doesn't it?

Frankly no, it isn't easier, and as someone who's been a moderator themselves, I'm surprised you think that. It's much easier to use the ignore feature than it is to expect someone else to spend their time adjudicating your grievances. One involves the click of a button, while the other involves further clogging up the forum with petty bullshit, which then requires some poor fucker to make a judgement on it, which can obviously be problematic in itself. How about sparing them a thought and minimizing their workload?

That's the problem with "putting these people in their place" - it doubles the work of the moderators, when it really shouldn't be necessary. Adults should be capable of moderating themselves, and that includes ignoring people who are on the wind up. Why not save the moderators the time and effort by using the ignore feature? It appears what you're saying is that you don't feel you should have to use the ignore feature, because you believe that the moderators should take your side and discipline the people you have a problem with. But why should they? Some of us clearly aren't offended by it, so why should the mods pander to your sensitivities? What about those of us who are capable of ignoring WUMs, who get fed up with people who seem incapable of doing the same?

The thing about WUMs is that they thrive on a reaction. What would be the odd passing remark is continuously exacerbated by people giving them precisely the reaction they crave. It's like clockwork. I've got a lot of respect for you mark, but it really amazes me how seemingly level-headed people like yourself can allow themselves to be so put out by strangers on an internet forum. Seriously, why do you let it bother you? It's just some bored knobhead in a room somewhere. If anything, your continual exasperation gives them a reason to exist.

Rodgers is smart though. 2 out of the 3 signings are players he's worked with before, so lessens the chance of being a flop.
