Not one season wonders, who have failed to score in (i've lost count how many).. from a team that is about to be relegated and a player from a team that has been battling with relegation all season and is more injured than sturridge..

Other than Milner and Depay Memphis I fail to see how the squad would be improved to a level that can compete for a Top 4 place..

Still doesn't mean he would have been a good signing.
He'd have been an awful signing in every way imaginable.
Knee problems,Nearly 30 and he would have demanded a chunk for his wages.

For me Austin and Ings present a lower risk than some expensive foreign import.

Austin or Ings would be useful as bench option.. I get the low risk element either would be an improvement to some degree over Lambert..
But if we are going to be making noises with our neighbours we have to think bigger than the likes of Benteke, etc.. etc.. as our main options..
