Realistic targets?

Depay, Milner, Illaramendi and Ings.

Illaramendi has been linked with a 17 mill transfer I think

Depay will move to a bigger/better club.

Ings/Austin would be hugely depressing.

If it was up to me, and I would have done this last year, I would have signed Lacazette and Nainggolan. Probably not possible now.

So all in all, expect more shite to come in in the summer, and more people to justify signing it.

Jordy Clasie is a realistic target. We need a midfielder in that position. He is captain of Feyenoord and he is tiny. Brendan would love him. Fits the transfer age limit as well.

Who cares? Apparently we 'rebuilding' this summer. So we're rebuilding the squad that had eleventy hundred new faces in it less than a year ago. Yeah, that seems good.

I would throw the cash at Klopp, De Boer and Simeone. I'm sure there are other targets worth investigating too. But we shouldn't be left with our pants down this time. Get a class manager on board and a DOF to dovetail with.

I have a weird feeling Depay is a 'realistic target' - if we offer 20-25 million once the window opens, we'll sign him.

These guys are available for Free;
Adriano - 28 years
Nigel De Jong - 30 years
Evgon Konoplyanka - 25 years
Sami Khedira - 28 years (Probably going to Arsenal/Juve/PSG/Germany)

Terror: Benteke has terrorised the Liverpool defence in years gone by
Here are all the latest Reds stories from today's Daily Mirror...
Miss top four, miss top targets

Brendan Rodgers admits Liverpool could miss out on their main transfer targets if they can’t offer Champions League football.
After a playing out a contender for worst game of the season at West Brom on Saturday, the Premier League’s fab four are pulling away into the distance and Liverpool are no closer to getting back to where they once belonged.
The duel between Raheem Sterling and Saido Berahino, two precocious talents allegedly caught dabbling in that stupid laughing gas craze, was no laughing matter. In fact, it was a non-event.
Rodgers, the first Liverpool manager since the 1950s to go without a trophy during his first three years in the cockpit, is under pressure from supporters on the Radio Moan phone-in lines – and he knows it.

Head scratcher: Rodgers needs to find a way to get Liverpool in the top four

Collymore column: Liverpool MUST stick with Rodgers

I'm going to nail my colours to the mast here and say that Brendan Rodgers is the right man to take Liverpool forward.
Yes, he has made mistakes in the past two years and I’m sure he’d be the first to admit that.
But he’s still a young manager and Liverpool will be far better served by backing him in the long term than they would by operating a revolving-door policy in their manager’s office.
The main criticism from Liverpool fans who call my talkSPORT phone-in, CallCollymore, centres on Rodgers’ signings. But they have other gripes too.

Goals: Liverpool are hoping the likes of Ings can bring them goals

Liverpool could have a completely new look front line next season as they are reportedly targeting both Christian Benteke and Danny Ings, report the Telegraph.
The Reds are thought to be looking for goalscoring talents to work alongside injury-prone Daniel Sturridge and struggling star Mario Balotelli.
Benteke is thought to cost over £30million from Aston Villa but he has terrorised Liverpool's defence before and Brendan Rodgers is keen on his signature.
Danny Ings will be available for a minimal tribunal fee when his contract at Burnley expires at the end of the current season.
Keeping coy on Depay

Brendan Rodgers has refused to confirm that Liverpool are in talks to sign Memphis Depay, report the Liverpool Echo.
The Reds have reportedly been chatting to both the player and his agent ahead of a possible summer move, but face competition from Manchester United.
But Rodgers is keeping his cards close to his chest and will not say what stage talks are at, or if in fact they are actually taking place.
However, he was full of compliments for the PSV star.
“I can’t confirm either way - you know me, in terms of speculation of players,” he said. “The kid is a very talented player, of course. But I wouldn’t like to confirm either way."
Alert to Song availability?

Keen to stay: Song wants to remain in the Premier League

Alex Song is keen to remain in England when his loan move to West Ham expires at the end of the season, report the Daily Star.
That means Arsenal and Liverpool are on alert to his availability, with both keen to sign the central midfielder, who is expected to leave Barcelona this summer.
The former Gunner said: "I definitely want to stay here (in England). I don't know (if I can sign a permanent deal at West Ham).
"I can't say anything now because I want to focus on the rest of the season and then we will see."
