Realistic Striker Targets come Jan?

I'm not a massive fan, but he does boast a very good scoring rate... and well... our squad needs bodies. If nothing else, he'd give us more a presence up top due to being a rather large cumbersome oaf.

Give Real 12m plus babel for Higuain.

Now you're talking.

I heart Higuain, and think he'd fit very nicely into our squad. The extra bonus, which you've hit on too, is that we lose Ryan Babel.

We surely don't have enough money to get Higuain, even if they are willing to sell him.

Pandev if Lazio prefer a nominal fee over his services for the rest of the season.

Toni maybe... with his shitty goal celebration. He's the only out and out centre forward that I can think of.

Dean Holdsworth aside, of course.

Klose?

Discussed him a short while back, I think he is on 110,000+ p/w.
Bayern also want 16mil. Next!!

With regard to a realistic striker, it is a world cup year so there won't be many decent guys chomping at the bit for a squad place at Liverpool.
I think Kenwyne Jones looks like a good prospect, he would probably cost £10mil+ though.
Maybe a cheeky bid for Pavlyuchenko? Probably not tbf.

Benjani is looking to leave City!!

Didn't realise they wanted that much for him.

Kevin Davies from Bolton would be tolerable if the alternative is anal rape.

Haha.

And that's not even an observation made on his footballing ability. He's just...well...an obnoxious twat.

Can you imagine how embarassing it'd be to sign Kevin Davies?

Mother of Jesus.

Higuain is the dream signing and he can play in a few positions.

Doubt we'd get him though. The obvious option is play Babel RW and Kuyt up front.

Luis Suarez from Ajax....we could definitely work something out involving Babel going the other way. Not gonna get Higuain id say....he's still scoring and Madrid wont let him go if he keeps it up! Or RvN...id take him in a heartbeat!!

But big players dont move in January 😛

Kevin Davies has joined Liverpool on a record breaking 5 year contract. The deal smashes the Anfield club's previous record of Michael Owen by 12 inches.

I don't especially rate him but Pavlyuchenko might come cheap.

There's a reason for that.

Yeah, he's pretty average but as far as finding £10M strikers who can lead a line, I'm all out of ideas.

There's few inspiring options out there;

Toni doesn't sound like a bad shout, I used to rate him highly but haven't seen him for years.

I'd be willing to take a punt on Zaki if he wasn't a complete cunt.

Do we even have any money to spend?

Realistically maybe Pandev, since his contract is up at the end of the season.

Or maybe bring someone in on loan.

I'd like Carlton Cole but I don't think that's a possibility, nor Kenwyne Jones whom we missed out on.

Umm..

Dear Lord... this sentence depresses me. I realise Cole has been good this season but not a possibility? Have we fallen that far? Oh I miss the days when we had Baros running down alleys and Nunez flying up and down the wing.

You're all dreaming if you think Dzeko is a realistic target in January.

Yeah Wolfsburg will really sell their best striker half-way through the season, and we of all clubs will come up with the big fee that they will inevitably want to sign him.

Huntelaar would be realistic, although I'm not sure if he is permitted to leave Milan this season due to some rule???

He's hardly playing at Milan - possible loan deal would be worth a shot I suppose.

Anyone know how Nemeths getting on? Could we not recall him?
[/quote]

I suppose that would depend on whether we have a recall clause, but even if he's doing well, I think we'd be better off leaving him there. He needs to start games consistently and we need a bit more experience in the squad.

I think we have £3 mill. But we owe it to Roma for Aquaman.
