I really hope that next pre season, the likes of Voronin, Plessis, Ayala, Gulasci and Degen are nowhere to be seen. As they're fucking brutal.
 
far too many player are huried in their approach, maybe they are trying too hard to be noticed, they'll be noticed more if they simply keep the ball ticking over rather than trying to thread the eye of the needle. it's been said on here that all alonso does is receive and release the ball, such a simple technique but few are doing it.

I know this is preseason but this is a pet peeve of mine, if the striker is 5' nothing then it's a little daft for the center back to continually look to find him with the long ball. what's THAT all about?
 
besides loads of players busting a gut but I'd say 9 (maybe 10) names are already down to start v spurs barring injury.

Change xbox to PS3, and I'm the same.
 
Pacheco really impressed me today. He looks ready to play first team football. Looks a lot better than Ngog. Can't see how Rafa could leave him out. He skinned the defenders time and time again during the game.

Now to another topic....

Benayoun injured today looked serious, he was stretchered off.

Agger has a niggling back injury.

Johnson is injured as well.

The Spaniards played in the confederation cup.

It doesn't look good.

Agree with all of that. IMO at least some of the refining process needs to take place in the first team - it's partly the extra pressure involved that will help smooth out some of those rough edges.

I think the development at reserves level has a bit to answer for because I don't really think there is much difference from the player we saw last year other than a bit more experience playing with older players.

I hope we can see this improve with all the changes being made behind the scenes going forward.
