Some bookies are taking bets on Rafa taking England to Euro 2012.

Could do worse, he has an excellent track record in cup competitions, and hopefully that would mean the end of Terry and Lampard ;D Rafa loved Chelsea

Cappello to be binned today

Personally I would just say to Hoddle, have another go.

Welcome back Fox

International football might be just the thing for Benitez. No transfer fees and therefore no moaning about lack of them.

He'd still fall out with the FA in about a month or so of course.

Where have you been?!

Arry should run the England team from his cell, like Avon Barksdale, on a phone Joe Jordan played by Stringer Bell has hidden in a sock.

Yes welcome back Fox.
I agree with both of Fox and Richie. In so many ways the job would suit him, in those aspects already mentioned and he would not have to firm close long-term bonds with all the players. Tactically for knock outs playing home and away he would be great. His big problem as Richie says would be getting on with the beurocracy of the FA. I think sparks would fly with clubs and managers too.
He would if he could bite his tongue be an ideal candidate

Welcome back Fox.

I have a feeling Rafa could wring the best out of the England side. As an England fan, I'd be quite excited if he got the gig.

No Terry. Rafa in charge. Stevie G captain. I might even give England some backing in moderation.

No transfers to do, a set of players who aren't good enough to win on paper but have a few stars there, & a cup competition.

In many ways ideal. However his level of control would be much less than he'd like & I could imagine him pissing off the old guard of managers as well as the media when having a go about players not be available etc.

I'd be much more optimistic about the chances of progressing in any cup competition with rafa at the helm compared to any other contender for the England job.

If I'd have read this before posting I may well not have bothered!

Glad we're on the same page anyway!

Hi there HC /all

My gap on 6Cm was just a mixture of lack of entusiasm/busy at work and hectic kids ETC

I have enjoyed watching us in the last few months so fancied seeing what folks are talking about on here. Apart from Bolton and Fulham where I went to and have never been so cold in my life, we have played really well. We just need shooting practice at smaller goals in training, damn woodwork.

As for Rafa I would love to see him have a go, I really hope Postman Pat goes today

It would really be interesting to see how the partnership Heskey and Crouch up front would pan out for Ingerlund.
