Our form in the last 6 games is some of the best in the league and so it would be mindless to sack him unless we have our no.1 target for next manager in the bag either for now or in the summer.

P.S. Mods - how do I got about changing my username???

Just Pm someone

too loyal?

Generally speaking, I think Liverpool fans are quite loyal when it comes to backing the manager. I don't wish to have a petty debate about it.
I'd say naive and stupid, rather than loyal.

Steve Coppell. fuckinghell.

Cheers Ross - I'll wait to see who's next bandwagon to jump on before picking a name

so rafa fails to finish in the top and we get rid? so what happens if the new manager fails to reach the top 4? worse, what happens if he fails to reach the top in his first season? we get rid? the truth is when you take in account the opposition facing him, the limitless money of chelsea and the decades experience of manu (also with buckets of money) the english league is the hardest league to win. manu and chelsea have won the league every season he has been here, I want to know what right a liverpool fan has to expect rafa to overhaul that seeing as how he has spend less? if we're talking savvy and know how rather than money than fergie has more experience than him.

Look guys, real quotes

Rafael Benitez has today rubbished further press speculation linking him with a move to Serie A side Juventus.

"Contrary to reports in the Italian media this weekend, I want to make it absolutely clear I have no agreement with Juventus and have not and will not be meeting Juventus or their representatives or any other club," said the Liverpool manager.

"I have a long term contract with Liverpool and I'll repeat what I said on Friday that I am happy here and my only focus is to do my job as well as I can to get the team back into to the top four, beginning with the derby against Everton."

Are you trying to ask me how can I expect us to win anything when all the other competing clubs have better managers than us ?

United's net spend in the last 6 years is £22m. Our net spend is more than £110m in that same time period
Our gross spend is nearly £70m more than United's in that same time period. How can we possibly catch them ?

By signing good players that fit into our system and getting them to play to their potential. I don't think anybody expects us to win anything for a while, but signs that we can at least play football would be nice.

We've spent more than all but City and Chelsea during Rafa's time here, every other club that's run as a business has spent less than us.

I'd expect to find some unexpected names on any bookies' list in such circs, but a name I've never heard of? WhoTF is Osvaldo de Oliveira?

the bottom line for me is the current manager and players got liverpool within 4 points of winning the league only stopped by a record breaking manu. a good (if not great) in the league that is being undermined by an equally terrible season, despite that liverpool are only 8 points off 3rd and a mere point off 4th.

Heh, according to Wiki he is a Brazilian that manages a Japanese side. Random.

The last manager to come from a Japanese club fared reasonably well

manu's balance sheet looks rosy after the sale of the 80m pound ronaldo, a player who al but single handidly won manu the league.
also you mention chelsea have spent more, well they HAVE won the league, so again, liverpool are expected to win the league despite spending less money? how does that work exactly?

And according to ESPN Soccernet, the Kashima Antlers are currently sitting at the top of the J League.

Experience of mounting a title challenge? Check.

There is a reason why LFC don't sack managers and the crowd don't call for his head, or boo individual players, etc

It is part of what made Liverpool one of the most successful and famous clubs in the world

If it is also part of the reason we haven't won a title in two decades, fine. I can live with that

But to call Liverpool fans 'naïve' is the mark of a cunt

well, why not search the lower leagues then?
okay, I will not be surprised if rafa is sacked at the end of the season but I would personally keep him, we were definately moving in the right direction and horrendous luck (yeah yeah you make your own luck) and injuries (yeah yeah rafa assembled the squad) I would rather that than another 'five year fucking plan'.
No it isn't. Youre a loser with a loser mentality. Oh pity poor Liverpool with her 200m spend, her half a dozen world class players....how can we compete. Bollocks.
And this newcastle fan thing that you and some other losers keep regurgitating is pathetic. There's a world of difference between having faith in a losing manager, and a loser mentality, with a failed 5 year plan that's run into it's 6th year and is still failing, and adopting a revolving door manager policy.

oh, if only life were so simple. a 5 year plan with the 5th year ending in the league. simple.
pity that the reality has a record breaking manu and a chelsea spending money like its going out of style.
also if backing a manager during the good and the bad makes me a 'loser' then guilty as charged.
I will add that manager won the CL and just last season had liverpool playing the best football for years, decades even.
