Kuyt is one I'm in 2 minds about.

I've not been a fan of his one little bit, but I probably should give him the benefit of the doubt since he was forced into a bloody right mid position which obviously doesn't suit him.

he's not good enough for back up striker either, which is why i'd sell. i think he's a very good player but he's one who has to go if we want a change of style.

I would pay for Dirks easy jet ticket if he was interested, and while Mascher is possibly my fav player for the gonads he has, he was always going to go sooner rather than later as long as it went on a creative player and a good forward (we need three in total)

I would definately sell kuyt because 1, he is on a massive wage and 2, he is being asked to do a different job than the one he was bought for. yes he scores goals but I'm of the opinion if we had a wide player than could hurt stubburn defenses and deliver quality into the box we'd win more games.

this is true but we're going to need money to rebuild the squad, I suspect that money will come from gerrard/torres sales but if by some miracle they want to stay we're going to have to generate money to plug holes in the squad. selling kuyt and buying a quality left back is already improving the squad, becuase maxi (imho) would do a better job at right midfielder and our left back is utter gash.

I hate this fucking bollocks about Kuyt, yeah he can be inconsistent but he's a proven match winner. You only have to look at Torres' interviews when he's mentioned Kuyt to really assess his value to the team, you need players like him. And would he get into the others teams? Well Wenger was in for him when we signed him. John Terry has had alot of good things to say about Kuyt in the past regarding the games he's played against him.

Just because he isn't Ronaldo and he's a versatile attacker rather than and out and out winger or striker, it seems fashionable to play down his ability and his contribution, there's a shit load of players who deserve to be shown the door and he certainly isn't one of them.

Yep. I really hate that kind of comment. I think he'd do well for a few of the big teams around us and as said a million times, statistically in terms of goals and assists you'd be hard pushed to find a player who'll give you as much. So he's not a natural winger? So what? Maxi has been impressive of late but he's barely proven anything yet for us.

No offence Neil, but given your love for that lazy, useless twat on the left wing, forgive me if I don't give much credence to your reasoning for not rating Kuyt. He's isn't fast and capable of scoring a 30 yarder once every 25 games.

I do like Dirk, but I see him as being reasonably expendable - as long as we get a decent enough fee. I reckon £12M or so should be the absolute minimum we're pushing for.

Thing is, if a new guy comes in and uses him a different way, it might turn out he's worth more to us than any fee we'll get.

He's not the world's greatest right winger (although he's the best defensive right-winger in the business) and he's not great as a lone striker, but that's not to say that's how he's gonna be utilised.

its your choice if you want to bring up babel to counter the arguement of kuyt but babel isn't on 90 a week, doesn't play regardless of form, wasn't bought as a striker and then shifted to the wing because he couldn't cut it in that position and isn't blocking the path of people more talented than he is in the position he hogs week after week.
