Is anyone not a little bit worried that Jovanovic isn't going to be the answer to our left-wing woes?

Relying on Jova and Kuyt to provide width and attacking threat on both flanks might be pushing it a bit.

Yes. I said before that as a combination they seem a bit agricultural to me. Really, I'd rather Jovanovic was used more as a squad member. But realistically, we're not going to have enough money to buy a new CM, a new LB, a new striker AND a new LW.

I suspect Cole will end up playing there, with Gerrard behind Torres and Lucas next to the new CM - and that might actually end up being a better bet.

So we'd look like this:

Reina

Magic - Carra - Agger - Figueroa

Defour - Lucas

Kuyt - Gerrard - Cole

Torres


The other option would be to play Cole centrally, Gerrard on the right and Kuyt on the left. They'd probably swap round during games anyway.

Ha. Point taken.

However I'm pretty sure Kuyt as a type is exactly what most top managers crave to have in their squad nowadays. Hardworking, no-nonsense never-say-die attitude.

He'll probably start as many games under Roy percentage-wise as he did under Rafa baring he's not loosing his form completely of course.
