I rate Parker and would be quite happy if we did sign him, but we'll get well screwed on the fee. The Hammers have come out and said he's the one player they've got who's not for sale.

Not as his main job, no, but he can "put his foot in" with the best of them. If/when Masher leaves all the midfield players are going to have to do a bit more defending in any case, so it wouldn't bother me overmuch if Parker were the most defensive of them, since I'm pretty sure that's the way the team will (have to) develop anyhow.

Masherano has been left out of the squad for Moenchengladbach tomorrow night ...... I doubt he'll be here for the Arsenal game. Fabregas is injured and probably won't start for them.
Fabregas will report back to the Emirates on Thursday and will start his pre-season programme on August 9. He and Robin van Persie are not expected to play in the first game against Liverpool.

It's fairly common term here. You'll get used to it. Brendan calls every player that performs poorly a cunt. We generally just ignore him, though he is one of the most entertaining posters here.
